OPI DS Diamond

Today I'm wearing OPI's DS Diamond, and it is actually the first time that i'm wearing a DS lacquer! I received a package from Aveyou.com yesterday with an OPI haul (screams with joy!) and it contained 3 DS polishes (Diamond, Reserve, Extravagance). I also was able to purchase DS Classic at a local salon this week at a discounted price of only $7! This was an amazing deal for a few reasons. Firstly, DS polishes are extremely hard to come by in Canada, and if you are lucky enough to find them they will cost you roughly $20. So you can imagine how excited I was to find this gem at such a low price. I was with my best friend, a fellow OPI enthusiast, when I found this polish, and unfortunately there was only one DS polish left. We agreed that it would be mine since when Mad as a Hatter first came out there was only one bottle left and she got to purchase it. Now, this polish still doesn't make up for my loss of Mad as a Hatter, but it's a start!
All DS polishes have "diamond dust" (listed as "Diamond powder") in the formula, which I think is just amazing, and I couldn't wait to polish my tips in this magical formula.

I thought that this polish would be a bit more vibrant and flashy, since it is named "Diamond". However, it is slightly muted. I feel as though this polish would be work appropriate, since it isn't too "in your face", but you will definitely catch yourself staring at your nails throughout the day, especially in different lights.
The base of this polish is somewhere between a silver and lavender, but definitely more towards the silver end of the spectrum. There's very, very fine glitter, in a wide range of colours that show up in the light. Unlike other glitters, this polish applies very smoothly, and feels like any other normal polish to the touch. It is not gritty or bumpy. Hopefully the removal will be smooth and easy as I HATE removing chunky glitters! **Ahem! Absolutely Alice!**
What you see in the pictures is 3 coats, although you easily could have gotten away with 2.

Just when all my nails were the perfect length, I break my middle nail opening a cupboard :( And then of course I got a splinter on the pad of the same finger just a few days later!

I do enjoy this polish, although I must say that I was hoping for it to be closer to DS Coronation, which from the pictures I saw of it looks more "diamond-y". Application was perfect thought, and I do find myself staring at the different glitters throughout the day.
