Revlon Patent Leather & OPI Turquoise Shatter

I recently purchased OPI's Turquoise Shatter, and was super excited to try it out! I've seen it layered over a lot of yellow shades, and that combination just wasn't for me. I thought that this shatter would love great over a black, or a metallic silver, like OPI's Birthday Babe. I finally decided to layer over a black polish, and the one that I used was Revlon's Patent Leather, from their Dark Pleasures collection.

I purchased this polish probably over 5 years ago, but I'm not sure of the exact year. Patent Leather is a black polish with silver shimmer in it. The shimmer doesn't take away from the darkness of this lacquer, but it does make it a bit more wearable.

I wasn't a fan of Revlon's choice of bottle shape for this collection. I really am a fan of OPI's bottle shape, it's just so classic. This square bottle doesn't fit into the hand very well. The brush was a nice size, and fanned out well. The lacquer was highly pigmented, and was almost a one coater, but I added a second coat to make sure everything was even.

Now onto the shatter! The formula of Turquoise Shatter was great. I found that it didn't shatter as much as the other ones I've used (Black, Red, Silver), but I still loved the  results. Turquoise has shimmers in it, much like Silver Shatter. It isn't just a flat turquoise shade.

Have you tried any of OPI's shatters? What would you like to see Turquoise Shatter layered over?
