DS Bold

Today I have one of the new DS (Designer Seriers) polishes from OPI for you!
I'm not normally a "red" lover, but this looks so gorgeous in the bottle that I had to immediately try it out. DS polishes are known for its exclusive diamond dust formula, flawless application, dazzling effects, and stress-free removal. However, I was surprised when I read the ingredients list (found on the other side of the peel off sticker on the bottom of OPI bottles). I couldn't find diamond dust, or anything related to diamonds in the list. With all of my other DS polishes I could find something along the line of "diamonds" in the ingredients list. So, does DS Bold have diamond dust? It appears that it doesn't, which really confuses me since this is the key features of the higher end line.

DS Bold was unlike any other DS polish I have used before. It dried with a "gritty" finish, instead of the usual smooth, shiny coat. Application was still flawless, 2 coats provided full coverage. DS Bold is a pinkish-red jelly base with silver/gold fine glitter. This shade looks amazing in the sunlight, with the glitter radiating and capturing your eyes.  I do really like this shade, I'm just confused as to why it was include in the higher end DS line.

2 coats, no top coat

DS Bold will be available beginning September 2011 at Professional Salons and Spas for $15.95 CAN suggested retail for each colour.
What are your thoughts on this polish? Are you surprised that diamond dust wasn't listed on the ingredients list?

Disclosure: This product was sent to me for review from OPI.

  6. @little miss polish - I was also hoping for a smoother finish, but these shades are still great! Just not what I was expecting from the DS collection
