EOS Organic Lip Balm - Smooth Sphere

Today I have a product review for you that is not nail polish! In addition to my love of polish, I also have a sweet spot for beauty products in general - lip balm, hair products, self tanners, lotions, make-up, etc. I always have something on my lips, whether it be lip balm or lip gloss (I'm not a huge lip stick fan). I'm at the point now that if I don't have something on my lips it doesn't feel right!

What the product claims to do: Lip balm is 95% organic, 100% natural, and paraben and petrolatum free. Packed with antioxidant-rich vitamin E, soothing shea butter and jojoba oil, EOS keeps your lips moist, soft and sensationally smooth.

I love that this product is 100% natural and almost fully organic!

I have seen the EOS (Evolution Of Smooth) Organic Lip Balm all over the internet and in magazines, and I thought that it looked so cute and was the perfect new product! It's the best of both worlds - lip chap in a tube and the kind in the pot. It's a new version of the stick, and a vast improvement on the potted lip balm. This smooth sphere eliminates any bacteria that is normally transferred from your fingers to the product. This product was recently released in Canada, and is creeping its way into many stores. The smooth spheres are $3.99/each at all major food, drug, and mass retailers— Loblaw's, Zellers, London Drug, Shoppers / Pharmaprix, Jean Coutu, and Indigo bookstores. They are also finalizing distribution dates with Walmart Canada, but they will be available there as well.
I was able to try the Summer Fruit scented Smooth Sphere - the one in the reddish-pink ball. The only flavours available at this time are the Summer Fruit, Honeysuckle Honeydew, and Sweet Mint. I think I would really love the Honeysuckle Honeydew! Summer Fruit is not an overpowering aroma, it is very subtle, which I think will appeal to many people.

As for application, you simply twist off the rubberised top and there is an oval of product. You apply this as you would a normal lip balm in the stick form. I found that the product at times felt a little gritty on the top of the sphere, but if I used the sides of the product it was perfectly smooth. I'm not sure why this happened.

The product does last on your lips for a good amount of time, about 2 hours - If you aren't eating or drinking. I find this to to pretty typical for most lip balms, nothing extraordinary. However, I apply on a regular basis anyways so the wear time isn't a huge deal for me.

 * I am wearing OPI's Divine Swine on my nails in these pictures, in case you were wondering :)

Have you tried out the EOS Smooth Sphere? What is your favourite scent/flavour of this product?

Disclaimer - This product was sent to me for review from eos.
