Meep-Meep-Meep

First off - how cute is this name! I really know next to nothing about the Muppets, so unfortunately I can't explain where this name came from, or any of the other names from The Muppets Collection from OPI.
As with most holiday collections, The Muppets included a few reds (Meep-Meep-Meep, Animal-istic, Wocka Wocka!). But none of these reds are boring cremes. They are each a different shade of red, with differing amounts of shimmers and undertones. I own very few reds, so each of these polishes have a new place in my collection.

I first tried out Meep-Meep-Meep on my toes - I tend to opt for reds, pinks, and purples on my toes - and I loved it! So, I tried it out on my tips shortly after. Meep-Meep-Meep is a red with a lot of pink undertones, making it borderline magenta/fuchsia. This polish contained gold and pink glass flecks, which resulted in a slightly rough finish. I used one coat of OPI's Top Coat to smooth everything out, and to add extra shine and durability. I had no application problems with this polish, only two coats were required for full opacity. As you will see in the pictures in this post, it looks like the polish isn't fully opaque - but this definitely wasn't noticeable in real life.

As I mentioned before, I'm not really a red polish lover, but I did really enjoy this polish, which may have been due to the pink undertones and the glassy flecks. This is a wearable red, which I would deem work appropriate. The shimmer isn't overbearing, but it does add a very nice touch. Meep-Meep-Meep will make  a great holiday colour.

Without flash, you can see more of the pinkish undertones!

Overall, I will be reaching for this shade again. Meep-Meep-Meep makes a great shade for both fingers and toes, which I don't find all that often.

What do you think of OPI's Meep-Meep-Meep? What qualities do you look for in a red polish?

Disclosure: This polish was provided to me for an unbiased review.

  4. This was right off the shade in the collection my eyes went to. However I was disappointing when I put it on. There is no reason for it to be lumpy/rough finish. It does not have glitter in it. In shade, it's really close to last years Let Me Entertain You from the Burlesque collection that is a great glass fleck. MMM has little plastic pieces in it - I looked at it at work under the microscope. That's what is giving it the rough surface. Great color, but they should have been able to give it a flat finish - I just wonder if they ran out of working time or were planning on trying something new that just does not quite make it in the finish.
