DS Temptation

DS Temptation is one of the two new additions to OPI's Designer Series Collection, along with DS Bold. DS Temptation is a blue based purple glitter polish. I must admit that the two new DS polishes had smoother finishes, more like what I'm used to getting from the higher end, more expensive DS Collection.

If this colour wasn't part of the DS Collection, I would have absolutely no problems with it! It's a great shade, opaque in three coats, and great durability. This polish packed a "wow" factor, and would be a great choice to a night on the town, or if you just want to add that extra sparkle to your outfit. I just don't see how this polish greatly differs from the rest of the OPI line. The DS polishes that I'm used to are great glittery shades, with magically smooth finishes. DS Bold and Temptation just do not fit into my higher expectations of what a DS shade should be like.

Overall, I do love this shade, and will be wearing it again and again. I just don't see how the higher price tag is justified for this polish.
What do you think of this polish? Would you be willing to pay a bit extra for it?

DS Temptation and DS Bold have been available beginning September 2011 at Professional Salons and Spas for $15.95 CAN suggested retail for each color.

Disclosure: This shade was provided to me for my honest review.

  2. I want this shade, but I agree...no need for it to be in the DS line.
