Deborah Lippmann Some Enchanted Evening

This is my first Deborah Lippmann polish! I've always wanted to try a polish from this brand - I think the bottles are so cute and I love a good glitter mani! I received Some Enchanted Evening in my November Topbox, and I was so thrilled, I couldn't wait to wear it.

I decided to layer Some Enchanted Evening over a black polish for an opaque look, and I choose OPI's I Only Date Werewolves, from the 2011 Halloween Spookettes Collection. I used two coats of I Only Date Werewolves for full opacity. This polish was okay, it was a bit streaky, which was alright since I was layering over top of it, but I wouldn't opt to wear this polish by itself.

Then I added two coats of Some Enchanted Evening over top and I was in love! Some Enchanted Evening consists of two sizes of pink glitter (small round glitter and larger hexagonal glitter) in a sheer pink base. There is also some holographic effect in this polish, which I love! I really couldn't stop looking at my nails while I was wearing this mani! I might just have to invest in a few more Deborah Lippmann polishes :)

What would you layer Some Enchanted Evening over? I would love any ideas for future mani's! What other Deborah Lippmann polishes are worth splurging for?

Disclosure: I was sent these products for my honest review.

  1. You need to RUSH to Sally's to get the new ltd release for NY from Orly called RAGE and layer Some Enchanted Evening over it lightly. Also, try layering over Orly Rage, China Glaze holiday 2011 - Snow Globe in a sheer coat so you still see the RAGE under it. When I first saw Orly Rage, I did not buy it - passing it 2 times but it kept coming into my mind as the new 'my adventure' into lighter shades for winter and a lighter shade for base use with layering. I am huge into layering - Essies new LuxEffects and CND Effects are favs of mine. Don't pass over things that look pearl to frost - most are new formulations and don't leave the streaks like the older ones. They are more a blend with metallics. Cannot endorse Orly Rage enough - and because it's a nude/pink opaque shade - it's perfect for a base on your DL SEE!!! You won't be sorry AT ALL!
