Did You 'Ear About Van Gogh?

First off, what a cute name, no?! OPI's Did You 'Ear About Van Gogh? is from the upcoming Holland Collection, that hits salon shelves February 8th, 2012.

Did You 'Ear About Van Gogh? is a light beige polish, that builds to be fully opaque. This polish is a perfect pick for an interview or a more conservative work place. This reminds me of a polish that my mom would wear, as she is constantly picking pale beiges and sheer pinks. I do like some more conservative shades, like OPI's Tickle My France-y and Sand In My Suit, but Did You 'Ear About Van Gogh? wasn't doing anything for me. There's nothing wrong with this polish, but it didn't make me happy while I was wearing it.

Did You 'Ear About Van Gogh? had great application, I first applied OPI's Ridge Filler, since this is a creme polish and could streak. I had fiull coverage after only 2 coats, which I was really pleased with considering it's such a light shade. I had no streaking, and I'm not sure if there would have been streaking if I hadn't used the Ridge Filler.

Yes, Julep Catherine stained my nails! :( That's why I have red/pink cuticles, in case you were wondering.

Overall, there's nothing bad about this shade, but for me there's nothing special about it either. This would make a great staple beige colour, if you don't already have one that you like. What do you think of Did You 'Ear About Van Gogh?

Disclosure: This polish was provided to me for my honest review.

  1. i love this colour, will have to get this, are your nails real haha there sooooo long :D

    1. yes they are my real nails! OPI's Nail Envy is my secret, it's amazing! :)

  2. Way to blaugh for me. I look really washed out in these nudes - feeling like it was tossed into this collection because of the Zoya push to get nudes back into the scene and how well a couple of the opaque nudes from Essie did last year.

    1. I agree, but a lot of people do love shades like this, so I understand why it's in the collection! Most polish junkies tend to go for brighter, more exciting shades though!
