February Empties!

Happy first day of March! It's really snowy here, so winter is still going strong, unfortunately. I cannot wait for the warm summer months :)

This month I made a point of using up some samples - I tend to just hoard these, I have what seems like a million of them! I really want to start using them up, instead of just letting them sit and collect dust :)

Group shot!

Philosphy - Purity Made Simple one-step facial cleanser - I was given these sample packets at Sephora - each one (6ml) lasted me 2 days (used morning and night), so I was able to use this cleanser for almost a week. I did like it, but it is really expensive! 16oz for $45 CDN! I'm not willing to pay that much for a cleanser so I won't be repurchasing.

Sephora Super Supreme Body Butter - Again, a sample from Sephora. I liked this, but the sample was too small, especially for a body butter. I probably will not be repurchasing this unless it goes on sale!

eos Summer Fruit Smooth Sphere Lip Balm - You can see my review here. I really love these smooth spheres! I've already gone through two of them. However, I like other scents/flavours more than Summer Fruit so I will be repurchasing those once I use up all my lip balms!

Bath & Body Works Black Raspberry Vanilla Shower Gel - I love this scent! I will be repurchasing :)

Bath & Body Works Black Raspberry Vanilla Triple Moisture Body Cream - You can see my full review here. Again, I love this scent! Will be repurchasing :)

Exact Pro-Vitamin Icy Shine Conditioner - This is the store brand for Pantene and I find that it works equally well for a fraction of the price! I will be repurchasing.

Bath & Body Works Fresh Linen Anti-Bacterial Deep Cleansing Hand Soap - Love this soap! There's little exfoliating beads that leave your hands nice and soft :) Will be repurchasing for sure!

Benefit Moisture Prep Toning Lotion - I received this in a Luxe Box and was so excited to try it out! I love Benefit and this product was great. However, I have used less expensive toners with comparable results, so I will not be repurchasing.

Clinique Sparkle Skin Body Exfoliating Cream - I cannot say enough good things about this product! Hands down the best exfoliator I have ever used. This is expensive, but this jar (250mL) lasted me at least 6 months, so I think it's worth it. I will be repurchasing.

Lush Ro's Argan Body Conditioner - You can see my full review here. I loved this product! I received a sample in store, and I will be purchasing a full size bottle soon!

John Frieda Full Clarity Purifying Shampoo - Luxurious Volume - I really hate shampoo packets like this, I would much prefer if there were in tiny bottles! The shampoo was good, but nothing special, so I will not be repurchasing.

St. Ives Fresh Skin Apricot Cleanser - Deep Cleaning - I love St. Ives cleansers! I've been using these for years, and will continue to do so :)

Schick Hydro Silk Razor - I normally use an electric razor, my mom uses one so it's just all I've ever known! I'm not too impressed with this razor, I cut myself three times with it! I will not be repurchasing.

Gillette Satin Care Shave Gel - this product really did leave my skin incredibly smooth! But I will not be repurchasing just due to the fact that I typically don't use razors.

Smashbox Photo Finish Targeted Pore and Line Primer - I was on the search for the perfect primer, so I got some samples from Sephora to test out before I purchased. I'm so glad I got a sample of this before I bought it because I hate it! Worst primer I've ever used! It is incredibly thick and hard to apply. I will not be purchasing.

John Frieda Frizz Ease Hair Serum - I was hoping that this product would be like a cheaper MoroccanOil, but I was disappointed! It was good, just nothing compared to MoroccanOil. I will not be repurchasing.

Sample of Marc Jacobs Daisy Perfume - I really liked this! I have not decided if I will repurchase or not, since I already have a few perfumes on the go.

Sample of Jennifer Aniston Perfume - I love this perfume! I used up my sample and already purchased the gift set! I will be posting a review of this soon :)

I feel like I went through a lot of products this month! I love clearing out old products and making room for the new ones :) What did you use up in February? :)

  2. Good for you. I usually end up giving mine away. Seems if I get one of a product I REALLY think I want, it's such a 1 time sample that it's not enough to tell how the product works.

    1. I agree, a one time use isn't enough for skin care, but for me it's good enough for shampoos, make up, perfume! I love using samples for some reason!

  3. I too have a bunch of samples, and there are always more on the way, especially since I subscribe to a bunch of those beauty boxes. I do test the products, but I often take them with me when I travel. They are really convenient.

I wanted ask you about the Clinique Sparkle Skin Body Exfoliating Cream. Have you tried the Vasanti Brighten Up? I received this one in a Glymm box and love it. I use other Clinique products, but have not tried the exfoliator you mentioned. If you have tried both, I am wondering if you could comment on how they compare. Thank you!

    1. The beauty box samples really do pile up fast, don't they?
I actually haven't tried Vasanti Brighten Up, I've only tried blush from Vasanti! So sorry :(
      Thank you for the comment!
