MAKE UP FOR EVER HD Complexion Starter Kit

I was recently invited to meet at Sephora with a representative from MAKE UP FOR EVER! So today I meet up with some lovely ladies, and was given the opportunity to learn more about the brand and try out some products.

I've heard so, so much about MUFE's HD line, so I was really excited when I was able to be colour matched for my perfect shade of their HD High Definition Foundation. The HD Complexion Starter Kit includes 15mL of their HD Microperfecting Primer in #0 Neutral, 5g of the High Definition Microfinish Powder, a full size 30mL HD Invisible Cover Foundation, and a full size HD Kabuki Brush! The great thing about this kit, is that you get to pick which foundation you put into the box!! You aren't stuck choosing from shades such as Light, Medium, or Dark. Let's be honest, 3 shades cannot possibly suit everyone. MUFE offers their HD Foundation in 26 shades to suit every skin tone. I was matched to 115 ivory, for light skin with pink undertones.

"MAKE UP FOR EVER introduces the new HD Complexion Starter Kit, the ultimate tool box for perfecting your complexion that can now be personalized to include your ideal shade of HD Invisible Cover Foundation. The HD Complexion Starter Kit boasts four of MAKE UP FOR EVER'S most coveted products for achieving naturally flawless skin in three simple steps: Prep, Cover, Finish."

PREP: HD Microperfecting Primer #0

"HD Microperfecting Primer's light weight, oil-free formula contains biotechnologically engineered Silica Micro Beads that refract both man-made and natural light to veil imperfections, giving a "soft focus" effect to the skin. Nourishing ingredients act as moisturizers to protect skin from dryness, providing a well-balanced canvas for foundation application. To apply, dab lightly with fingertips or use a sponge in a downward motion."

COVER: HD Invisible Cover Foundation

"The medium to full coverage foundation invisibly covers all imperfections. Its oil-free formula neutralizes shine while nourishing the skin and protecting it from drynesss, while Silica Micro Beads refract both man-made and natural light to veil imperfections. HD Invisible Cover Foundation is best applied with a soft, synthetic brush using a downward motion to avoid lifting and accentuating tiny hairs on the face. A dry sponge can be used to blend, using a downward motion. Choose your perfect foundation match by selecting from 26 unique shades that are guaranteed to match all skin tones, from the lightest to the deepest."

FINISH: HD Microfinish Powder & Kabuki Brush

"A universally flattering, invisible finishing powder, this best-selling skin perfector contains ultra-fine, spherical micro-particles made of 100% Mineral Silica Powder that allow natural and artificial light to reflect off of them, thereby softening and ultimately masking lines and imperfections for a perfect, radiant complexion. It is completely talc free and paraben free. Apply a small amount all over with out HD Kabuki Brush. Its soft yet firm nylon fibres evenly distribute powder for a flawless application."

I have to say, I so far love this foundation! Maybe it was because a make-up artist used it on me, but I really think that these are great quality products. Tomorrow I will be using all of these products for myself, hopefully I can recreate the look I had today, because I loved it!

This kit is sold exclusively at Sephora for $89 CDN ($79 US) and you are getting a $122 CDN value! If you were thinking of trying these products out, this kit is a great idea :)

Have you tried anything from MUFE? What do you recommend? :) If you wanted a full review on any of these products, please let me know in the comments!

    1. The kabuki is so soft! And I love that it's synthetic :) It is expensive though, but if it works I think it's worth it :)

  6. I hear so much about this brand but I have no idea where to get it in the UK. Thankfully I'm heading over to the US this summer to go to IMATS LA (are you going? Maybe we can meet up... I don't know anyone who is going lol...) so I'll hopefully be able to grab some during my trip.
Fab post :) Please check out my blog http://hautefuture.blogspot.com/ and let me know about IMATS via @HauteFuture on Twitter :)
