Clinique Full Potential Lips Plump and Shine - Voluptuous Violet

Clinique always has amazing deals going on, like great gifts with purchases, or free mini lip glosses with a consultation! I always make sure to take advantage of these great deals!

A while back, I had my make up done at a Clinique counter, and I was given a free sample of their Full Potential Lips Plump and Shine in Voluptuous Violet. I just rediscovered it in my lipgloss stash, and I love it! The sample size is 2.4mL, which really isn't that small! I find that Clinique is really generous with their sample sizes, making them more of a travel size.

From the Clinique website:

"Triple-action plumping lip gloss instantly and gently creates a fuller, lusher look. The plush effect lingers up to 6 hours. With continued use, peptides prompt skin's natural collagen production to foster a smoother, more defined look. Builds moisture cushion and comforts lips, too."

Now, I don't feel like this gloss works as a plumper, but I already find that my lips are larger than normal, so I don't need it to plump my lips. This gloss also doesn't make my lips feel tingly or anything that resembles a traditional lip plumper. If you are looking for a lip gloss that is going to magnify your lips, this probably won't be for you.

As a traditional lip gloss, this is great! The formula is so smooth and creamy. Clinique says that this will provide sheer to moderate coverage, which is acurate. You won't get the same colour that a lipstick provides, but I enjoy just a light wash of colour. The gloss isn't sticky at all, and lasted for hours. I even went out for lunch and this gloss stayed on through a veggie burger, fries, and a coke! I don't think that I've ever ate a meal and still had my lip product on. I always feel like I need to instantly reapply whatever I'm wearing. So, this gloss is amazing in my books! I would definitely purchase the full size of this gloss.

The colour I was given is Voluptuous Violet, a shade that I normally wouldn't pick out for myself. I tend to stick to pinks, but this gloss is a deeper grape colour. At first I didn't know if it was too dark for me, but now I really love it! I can't believe that I've had this gloss for so long and I've never given it a chance. Now I'm wondering how many other products I have that are going unloved!

I would prefer a brush applicator, instead of this doe foot applicator, but it's not a huge deal!

Overall, I'm really loving this gloss! The staying power is amazing, and I like the sheer wash of colour and creamy feel. Have you tried this gloss before? The full size is $22.50.
