EOTD Golden Goddess

My first EOTD (Eye Of The Day) post! I love seeing what eye looks everyone else creates, I wanted to get in on the action :)

I've been loving both the Naked Palette and a golden eye look lately. I've also been wanting to get some use out of my Maybelline Color Tattoo in Bold Gold. I find this Color Tattoo to be a lot sheerer than my favourite, Bad to the Bronze.

I started off with Urban Decay's Primer Potion. I'm not sure how I feel about this product yet, I've never had a problem with the longevity of my eye shadows, so I don't think I really need an eye primer. Then I used
Bold Gold, which I applied with the brush that came with the Naked Palette. I find this brush to be too stiff to apply powder shadows, but it's great for cream shadows! Then I turned to Urban Decay's Naked Palette, which has been a daily staple in my make up routine. First I applied Sin all over the lid. I've been loving this shadow! It's definitely one that I will purchase once the one in my palette is all used up. Then I applied Half Baked all over the lid. I love the golden look that this shadow gives. It's so pigmented and pretty! Then I applied a little bit of Smog in my crease.

I then applied Clinique's Eye Defining Liquid Liner in Black (reviewed here) to my upper lash line. On my water line I applied NARS' Larger than Life Long-Wear Eyeliner in Campo De'Fiori. I love this liner because it's different from the traditional stark white liner that I used to use on my waterline all the time. For mascara I used Cover Girl's Lash Blast in Very Black.

What do you think of the golden eye look? What eye shadow look have you been loving lately? :)

  4. I have worn a golden eye for years - thinking maybe first time I started wearing it was in the mid 80's with some shades that were very soft non metallic golden. It's been a go to eye look for me for ages. I also like the UD Naked pallet as well...I far prefer the first one to the #2 one - in fact I think I will give away my #2 next time I clean out my makeup. I have to be careful when it comes to 'my' golden eye or any eye look now days as I am getting older and having some hooding - I have to be careful not to get anything on that is got a lot of shimmer...makes a hooded eye look way worse. I am best with mattes and maybe using a light shimmer closer to my eyelash line. I HATE the new BE pressed shadows at least the ones I have tried - they are all far too metallic for me.

Oh I've heard really great things about the BE pressed shadows! I haven't tried them myself though.
