Gargantuan Green Grape is a great colour, but I really hate the formula. It's really thin and streaky, and requires a lot of work to make it look good. I had to use three coats for full opacity, but I still have a few streaks. I wanted to use it over my ridge filler base coat, but I couldn't find it in my stash at the time! Gargantuan Green Grape is very similar to OPI's Hey! Get in Lime! (reviewed here), but out of the two I prefer Hey! Get in Lime! I find that it has a better formula and requires less work. However, Hey! Get in Lime! is discontinued, so Gargantuan Green Grape will have to do as a replacement.
Please ignore the cut on my pinkie finger!
I love this colour, but I wish the formula was better. When I find my Ridge Filler I'll have to give this shade another try and see if it's easier to work with. Have you tried Gargantuan Green Grape? Do you have any tips or tricks for applying it? :)
My bottle has no streaky formula and in 2 coats I get full opacity!I just can't get enough of this colour!
ReplyDeleteOh that's so weird! Lucky you! :)
DeleteThis is one of my all-time favourite polishes, but the formula on mine is quite tricky too - think a lot of pastel polishes are this way unfortunately. Haven't tried it over Ridge Filler yet but I want to! x
ReplyDeleteThis is one of the streakiest formulas I've used! I'm going to need to try it out my Ridge Filler to see how much better it works for me :)
Deletemaybe they improved the formula because my bottle's formula is really opaque with only two coats, I've bought like six minty/lime green polishes so far and none of them suited my skin tone very well but this one, OMG! it's MY minty green!
ReplyDeleteOh, good to know! Maybe I should pick up another bottle and see if the formula is any better :)
