If you've been into a Sephora in the past couple of months, chances are you've seen their new Prisma Chrome eyeshadows. Their design is just gorgeous, a very 3D, enchanting pattern. I had such high hopes for these shadows, but unfortunately the design is the only enticing aspect of this product :(
I mean, seriously, how gorgeous is this packaging?! A little bit bulky for a single eye shadow, but I wouldn't mind if the actual product was great. However, I found the shadow to have very little pigment, and to be very powdery and chalky :( This surprised me because the reviews on Sephora's seem to be generally pretty good.
The above swatches are very heavily swatched, but as you can see, there is very little colour pay off. I also had some fallout. These shadows are 0.12 oz, and it seems like they would last a long time. However, if you had to use a lot of product every time you used them, I'm not sure how long they would last. Overall, this shadow is just too tricky for me to use, I like pigmented shadows that don't require a lot of work. Also, these are priced at $18.00 CDN, so they aren't exactly cheap. Maybe some of the other shades in this range have better pigmentation.
Have you tried the Prisma Chrome Eyeshadows? Do you have any tips or tricks to get them to work better? Let me know in the comments :)
Disclosure: This product was sent to me for my honest review.
Ugh, dreaded fallout...do these work any better with primer underneath? Such beautiful packaging though.
ReplyDeleteNo they don't :( They are just so lightly pigmented!
DeleteI really love the look of it in the packaging, but the colour isn't too great if that is it heavily swatched!!!

Exactly, there is just no way to built up the colour to what I wanted it to be like :(
DeleteSuch a pretty colour but a shame about the pigmentation x :-)
ReplyDeleteThe colour in the pan is beautiful, I wish it translated when applied! :(
