Benefit Refined Finish Facial Polish

I absolutely love Benefit's cosmetics, I own a wide variety of their products, ranging from mascaras, to blush, to highlighters. So, when they came out with a skincare line, I was really excited to try it out! Let's see what I think of Benefit's Refined Finish Facial Polish...

Firstly, I absolutely love Benefit's packaging for their skincare line! I love the seafoam green colour with the cork looking tops. Also, a lot of their products are in glass bottles, which makes everything feel fancier! The Refined Finish Facial Polish, however, is in a plastic container. I use this facial scrub 2-3 mornings per week, after I have cleansed my face with my regular cleanser. I really enjoy using this scrub, the scent is lovely, very light and clean. I find that this exfoliator is very gentle yet effective.

Here's what Benefit says about their Refined Finish Facial Polish:

"Dull skin from daily stress? Refined finish facial polish beautifully brightens the complexion, gently exfoliating to purify the skin & help minimize the appearance of pores to reveal skin's natural radiance. Contains natural clay & seaweed extract rich in minerals, nutrients & sugars, known to purify the skin."

I do like this scrub, but I don't think it's worth the price of $22.00 for 4.5 oz. My favourite facial scrub is the St. Ives Apricot Scrub, which isn't as gentle, but I still adore it. I have combination skin, and I think that this Benefit scrub would be great for dry to dry/combination skin types. If you have oilier skin, you might want something a bit more exfoliating.

Have you tried anything from Benefit's skin care line? What is your favourite facial scrub? :)

  1. It is hard to find a good, inexpensive facial scrub. I used to like St. Ives as you, but the last tube I bought did NOTHING at all. It was the same old kind but it would not rough up the surface of my skin to take anything off - bad tube maybe? I do like one made by Dr. Denese that's just a micro-exfoliator. I really love Kate Sommerville Exfolikat but gads - it's like $195 for a 5 oz tube! I like the 2 step Philosophy Micro-derm peel - the one with the mechanical abrasive that is like oranges and you add the activator after the scrub, leave that on and it does a little chemical AHA peel - works fab, but it's also is like $65. I keep the latter one on hand and only use it 1X a month when it's supposed to go on 1x/week.

    1. Forgot to add - thinking my fav Benefit skin care product is a long time friend of mine - their eye cream. It's light enough to use in daytime, has caffeine to de-puff - and I need moisture around my eye in day but most are too heavy and make my concealer and eye makeup end up running down my face. Not this one by Benefit.

    2. Oh really! I've always had amazing experiences with the St. Ives scrubs! You probably just got a bad bottle :(
Great recommendations, but both are still really pricey! I might get a sample of the Exfolikate from Sephora to try out before I splurge on it :)
I've used Benefit's eye cream before and absolutely loved it! :)

  2. I am tempted by this, but I think I should just stick to my HG facial scrub- LUSH ocean salt!

  3. The St.Ives Apricot Scrub was the first scrub that I ever bought for myself at the age of 13 for $3.99 and I completely agree that it remains one of my favourite facial scrubs of all time! I love the grit and how it keeps my skin clear and free of whiteheads. Too bad the Benefit scrub didn't quite work out...
