ImPress Press-On Manicure in Vamp It Up

Lately I've been really curious about the ImPress Press-On Manicures that Nicole Sherzinger has been promoting. The wonderful ladies from Her Late Night Cravings did a beauty battle on these, which you can see here. They had mixed feelings on this product, but I still wanted to try it out for myself :)

This is the first press on manicure that I've used. I have used the real nail polish stickers, but never anything like a fake nail. These come in many different colours, include solids and patterns. I decided to go with Vamp It Up, which is really fun and bright, perfect for summer! I wanted to try out a pattern because I can always paint my nails a solid colour, but I'm really bad at nail art. The kit contains 24 nails in 12 sizes. Firstly, remove any polish that you are wearing, as you want to apply these to clean nails. The kit includes a nail prep pad, which you just rub over every nail. Then, choose a nail size to best suit each of your 10 nails. The package suggests going with a size smaller than your nail, rather that one that's too large.

I found that the kit contains a wide variety of nail sizes, and I was able to find ones to fit all of my nails. To apply, you simply peel off the sticker from the bottoms of the nails, and apply to your nail. The side with the tab is to be applied to the cuticle. Application from start to finish only took me about five minutes, which I thought was amazing! When I use nail stickers, it takes me at least a half hour, since you need to file them down.

I absolutely loved wearing these! I received a ton of compliments on my nails, from customers at work, friends, family, strangers! The package claims that these nails will last for up to 7 days with proper application. Mine lasted for 8 whole days! I couldn't be happier with these nails! I've heard that other people have had problems with the space between your nails and the press-on nails, but I didn't experience anything getting caught in this space:

I accidently applied one of the nails upside down on my thumb nail. It is important that you apply the nails with the tab at the cuticle. Even though I applied one the wrong way, it did still stay on the entire 8 days. However, I did experience some tip wear on this nail. To remove, hold a cotton pad with nail polish remover over the nail, and then peel off. Removal can hurt a bit, but once the nail is off there isn't any more pain.

Overall, I'm very impressed with these nails! I'm already wanting to pick up more designs. I think that these are great for events, or during those busy weeks when you know you won't have time to paint your nails. During the 8 days that I wore these, I didn't lose a single nail, which I think is amazing. I washed the dishes, showered, vacuumed, opened pop cans, and everything else that I do daily. Since the pack comes with 24 nails, I will be able to get another full manicure out of this pack! I can only find these at Wal-Mart, where they retail for about $8-9 CDN.

Have you tried these Press-On nails before? What are your thoughts on them? :)

  1. So happy that you liked these!! I think that they are cool to have on hand if you are in a hurry and want your nails done but don't have the time to sit and paint and let dry. Mendi will probably never use these again though!

  2. These sound great. I’ve been curious about them too, when I have tried the sticky tabs in the past with other nails they have never lasted so I wonder if these are different. Might cave and buy some now!

    1. Not really! I had a bit of peeling on one or two nails, but nothing major. I just used two coats of OPI's Nail Envy and my nails are great! :)

  7. Wow, these look fantastic! I'm always scared that there will be too much of a gap between my real nail and the press-on nail, but your pictures look like it's really part of your actual nail!
