Happy Monday everyone! I had a great weekend, my best friend OPInionated from OPInionated About OPI came for a visit. It's her birthday today, so we celebrated over the weekend :)
I received the Moroccanoil Intense Hydrating Mask in my May Luxe Box, and I had a few commenters wanting a full review on this product, so here we go! I recently reviewed Moroccanoil's Moisture Repair Shampoo and Conditioner (link), and I absolutely loved both products! So, I was excited to try another product from the brand. I love hair masks, and I've used a fair amount of them. I like the added hydration from deep conditioners, and I had high hopes for this product.
This mask is yellow in colour, and has the same scent as the Original Moroccanoil Treatment, which I really like! However, I do find this mask really thin and liquidy for an intense treatment. Because of this, I had to use a lot of product for each application, so the bottle didn't last me too many uses. I would apply this to damp hair after shampooing. I focused this product on the bottom of my hair, from about the ears down, and even more on the ends. I would keep this conditioner on for the remainder of my shower, while I cleanse and exfoliate. I then rinse this product out thoroughly with cooler water. Although I like this product, I don't think that it works any better than the Moisture Repair Conditioner. For a deep conditioner, I expect a lot more hydration than just an everyday conditioner. The full size version is in a tub form, which I find a bit more difficult to use, and would prefer a pump or bottle.
Here's what Moroccanoil says about this mask:
"Hair in need of extra conditioning can benefit from this 5-minute revival treatment. Ideal for thick hair, the high-performance, argan oil–rich formulas deeply hydrate and condition while dramatically improving hair’s texture, elasticity, shine and manageability."
Overall, I liked this product, but I wouldn't buy the full size tub of it, just because it isn't anything better than the normal conditioner. I still want to try Moroccanoil's Restorative Hair Mask to see if it's any better! Have you tried any of Moroccanoil's deep conditioners? Which do you recommend? :)
I love MO products. I've tried their conditioner and it makes my hair soo soft and better looking. But if this is just like the conditioner I might not check this out then. Thx for the review :)
ReplyDeleteI honestly don't think you need to pick this one up if you already have and love the normal conditioner! :)
DeleteI've still never tried moroccan oil, I can't bring myself to spend that amount of money!x
ReplyDeleteI've gotten all of my MoroccanOil products in my Luxe Boxes! But now that I've tried them I would definitely purchase the full size oil and shampoo & conditioner :)
DeleteI haven't tried this products, but i would love to try the oil.. what are your thoughts on that particular product? x

I love the oil! A little goes a long way, it makes my hair feel so soft manageable! :)
DeleteI have tried the Morocco oil and love it. But not too crazy about the scent. Does the hair mask have the same scent?
ReplyDeleteThey do have the same scent, but I think that the hair mask is slightly lighter :)
DeleteI've used argan oil in my hair, just not this brand. I have a bottle of Pro Naturals Moroccan Argan Oil for my hair which I use for heat styling and conditioning and it's worked well so far to hydrate, protect and get it looking shiny.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing :) Moroccanoil is the only argan oil I've used, but I do have a bottle of Josie Maran's argan oil to try out soon :)
DeleteSounds like a great product - I love Moroccan Oil!

Aw thank you very much! :)
DeleteI love the mask! But the Moroccanoil treatment iteslf has to be my holy grail product. I use it almost every day especially when blowdrying my hair as it quickens up the process – does anyone else find this? I think Hairtrade.com is the cheapest place you can get it at the moment – here’s the link if anyone wants it. I also find it good to use on my extensions too x
ReplyDeleteI find that the oil helps my hair air dry faster, so it would definitely help with blow drying as well! :)
DeleteI haven't tried the actual conditioners, I do love the oil, but it's always mixed reviews and puts me off!
