Unfor-Greta-Bly Blue

Another day, another polish from OPI's Germany Collection! One of the polishes that initially caught my eye was Unfor-Greta-Bly Blue, which reminded me a lot of OPI's Swimsuit... Nailed It! Let's see if I loved it as much as last years gem!

Unfor-Greta-Bly Blue is a deep medium blue shade, that really pops in the light. I love blue shades like this, but tend not to wear them too often because I'm afraid of staining. I haven't removed this polish yet, so I can't way whether it stains or not, but hopefully I'm not left with a case of Smurf hands!

The formula for this polish was good, two coats was all it took for full opacity. I added one coat of OPI's Top Coat for added shine, which I think is a must for this colour or else it looks a bit dull. I did use OPI's Nail Envy Maintenance as a base coat to help protect from staining. I did find that this polish was a bit hard to clean up, since the colour is so dark. The colour for this polish is very rich and pigmented, and looks great in the summer sun. I also think that this polish would look great as a manicure colour, since it isn't too dark, and won't look black.

Overall, I do love this shade, but if you already own OPI's Swimsuit... Nailed It!, I would pass on Unfor-Greta-Bly Blue. By the way, I'm not a huge fan of the name! Am I the only one?

Disclosure: This polish was sent to me for my honest review.

    2. Haha - sorry I had to laugh at that - especially given the name is a twist on Unforgettable :) Lovely swatches and man I want to get this! If I have Blue My Mind can i justify getting this one? I just love the colour, but don't want to have two metallic blues if they're practically the same :)

    3. SD92 - I was having the same debate at CosmoProf today. They are very different. "Unfor-greta-bly blue" is more turquoise-y, where as "blue my mind" is just straight blue. I decided to go with "unfor-greta-bly blue" this time, but I will go back for "blue my mind"

    4. They are definitely different shades, as concia pointed out :) Both would make great additions to your collection!

  3. I think they used Greta because it is a popular girls name in Germany! Also Greta translated to English means "Pearl", so perhaps they felt that the shimmer resembled the look of a real pearl. I really like this shade!

  5. Unfor-greta-bly Blue sounds too much like Unforgettable Blue...bad call on the name, OPI. Otherwise, I like the color. I love blue polishes year round!
