bareMinerals Flawless Definition Volumizing Mascara

I recently finished off my tube of YSL's Volume Effet Faux Cils Mascara, so now I'm moving on to another of my many mascara samples! I chose to start bareMinerals Flawless Definition Volumizing Mascara in Black. I've never used a mascara from bareMinerals before, so I was interested in trying it out. I normally stick to drugstore mascaras, but it's always fun to try out samples of higher end brands.

I do find this mascara to be really wet, which I'm not a huge fan of to be honest. I like a slightly drier formula, I find that it makes for easier application. However, even though the formula is very wet, I didn't experience any transferring or smudging while wearing this mascara. I did find that this mascara does clump on my lashes, which isn't the most attractive look. It's not terrible, but I do think there are better mascaras available.

The brush of this mascara is pretty large, which I really like. I find that smaller wands don't add any volume or length to my lashes. This mascara does add a lot of length to my lashes, but since it's so clumpy, I'm not loving the end result.

Overall, this mascara does add volume and length, but it's way too clumpy and wet of a mascara for my liking. This mascara retails for $22.50 for 0.33 oz, which is a pretty decent price for a higher end mascara, but there are definitely better options out there. My personal favourite mascara is Cover Girl's Lash Blast, in the orange tube!

I don't want to be such a downer with negative reviews, but I do think these reviews are valuable. Negative reviews can save you from buying products that might disappoint you. Of course, you might love this mascara, this is just my take on it :)

    1. Thanks! I haven't heard too much about Bare Minerals' mascaras, I still have another sample to try out from them, I think it's the lengthening version :)

  2. It really bugs me when high end mascaras don't live up to their price tag. Especially when there are so many amazing drugstore ones!

    1. That really annoys me too! I feel like if it's high end, it better be amazing. I really don't see a need to splurge on mascaras, I think drugstore versions can be just as good or better! :)
