DS Luxurious

Another DS polish from OPI! DS Luxurious is one of the new releases for the Fall 2012 DS Collection from OPI. When I first saw it in the bottle, I thought that it looked very similar to DS Indulgence. But, once I painted my nails with this polish, I noticed that they are very different. DS Luxurious is an orange polish with red undertones and microshimmer. DS polishes also have diamond dust in the formula, which adds to the luxury of the DS line!

I'm normally not a huge fan of orange polishes, but I have to say that I'm really enjoying wearing DS Luxurious! Since it does have more of a red base, it's not a neon or too bright of an orange for my taste. The golden shimmer in this polish is so fine that your nails are smooth, not rough like when wearing a glitter polish. The formula was amazing, with full opacity with two coats. I didn't have any streaking or dragging at the cuticles. I've never had any problems with polishes from the DS line! I also find that DS polishes dry extremely quickly, which is always an added bonus.

Sometimes I do find that the DS polishes tend to chip fairly quickly, but I've been wearing DS Luxurious for 2 days and I haven't had any chipping yet. I did use OPI's Top Coat, as I always do. This polish looks its best when you are out in natural light, under the bright summer sun. I loved wearing this since at work I have a pretty basic dress code (white, black, grey), so it was really nice to have something brighter on my nails!

Will you be picking up DS Luxurious? What are your thoughts on OPI's DS line? :)

Disclosure: This polish was sent to me for my honest review.

  1. Very nice colour, I love the microshimmer! Orange is a great colour for summer, especially for the toes. I am enjoying wearing A Roll in the Hague at the moment, another favourite of mine from OPI!

    1. I haven't worn orange on my toes in a long time! I might do that the next time I give myself a pedicure :)

  3. I love this one - it's a tad darker - more rust than China Glaze Riveting. It reminds me a lot of and OPI that was discontinued this past yr - Dressed To Empress. But after OPI moved to green lable, DRessed To Empress often came in a watery formula and needed 3 coats. Soooo happy that OPI did not turn out more glitters into this yrs DS line up - I don't want to see glitters in the DS line - I want the great wearing holos from the original line releases, great pigmentation, lots of shine and good long wear that the diamond dust seems to help with. I love both the new 2012 shades.
