Save or Splurge? - Beauty Oils

Lately there's been a lot of hype surrounding beauty oils, and I'm wanting to try them out! But, the question is, save or splurge? This is where I need your help!

Caudlie's Divine Oil - $48 CDN for 100mL - Link -

What it is:
An enhancing dry oil for body and hair.

What it does:
This multi-use miracle oil is ideal for hair, nails, bath, and massages. Divine Oil is a unique alchemy of four extremely fine and evanescent vegetable oils (60% of the formula). To ensure that the benefits are truly complete, Divine Oil also features patented antioxidant grape-seed polyphenols and fair trade shea butter.

A subtle fragrance that will make you swoon as it caresses your skin. For the signature note of the fragrance Jacques Cavallier chose the rose, both the Moroccan rose and the Bulgarian rose. A burst of grapefruit and sparkling spicy pink pepper add a freshness to the fragrance while cedar, vanilla, and white musk base notes offer warmth. The composition is modern and infinitely desirable.

The Body Shop's Beautifying Oil for 100mL - $14 CDN - Link

Beautifying Oil is pure beauty in a bottle. Made with a lightweight blend of nut oils including Community Fair Trade marula oil, it gives instant hydration and a shimmering finish. This one has a totally tropical coconut scent.

For body, face and hair
A little goes a long way!

So, both oils are the same size, 100mL, but Caudalie is more than 3X the price of The Body Shop! Also, The Body Shop's Beautifying Oil is available in a wide variety of scents, that match their body butters. My favourite is Coconut, but I'm sure there's a scent to suit anyone's taste. Caudlie's Divine Oil does come with a nice spray applicator, and a more mature scent.

So what are your thoughts, should I save or splurge? Is this a beauty item worth the price tag, or will I be equally happy with a product that's more reasonably priced? Let me know in the comments! :)

  1. The body shop one is brilliant. You only need to use a little bit and the smell lasts all day. Spray applicators might give you more product than you need so you'll waste a lot :)

    1. great point! I never thought of that :)
Plus, the body shop always has amazing deals, so I could probably get the oil even cheaper than $14!
      Thanks for your comment :)
