The Body Shop Spiced Vanilla Body Scrub

I recently finished off my bar of Lush's Aqua Mirabilis body scrub, so I dove into my stash, and decided to start using my pot of The Body Shop's Spiced Vanilla Body Scrub! I love a lot of The Body Shop's Body Butters, but I don't think I've ever used any of their body scrubs. I bought this a while ago, around Christmas, which is when the seasonal Spiced Vanilla scent is carried. I love this scent, and I always make sure to buy one of their lip balms every Christmas.

This scrub has ground cocoa and walnut shell, which you can see clearly in the scrub. The walnut shells act as a gentle exfoliant, which would be great if you had sensitive skin. I personally prefer a bit of a harsher exfoliant, so this one isn’t my all-time favourite scrub, but I do still enjoy it. I do find that this scrub can get a bit messy in the shower, due to the larger particles of the walnut shells. Clean up is easy enough though, so don't let that keep you away from this scrub!

One thing that I love about this scrub is that is exfoliates and moisturizes at the same time! The formula contains Community Fair Trade cocoa butter, which helps seal in moisture. You don't need to apply moisturizer after using this scrub, but I still like to anyways! Since this scrub does help to moisturize, it might not be the best scrub to use before using a fake tanner, due to the oils. This formula is definitely gentle enough to use every day or multiple times per week, which is what I do.

I love the Spiced Vanilla scent, it's a nice twist to traditional vanilla scents. I don't find that this fragrance lasts on skin much long after I use it, which I don't terribly mind since I like to wear perfumes.

Overall, I'm really enjoying this scrub, and I do want to try out some of The Body Shop's other scents! My favourite scrubs so far are Clinique's Sparkle Skin Body Exfoliator, and the scrubs from Bath & Body Works. What scrubs do you recommend? Next on my list is a Sugar Crush from Soap & Glory! :)

  2. I cannot wait for the Christmas scents to come in!
I use the Pixy natural skincare body scrubbers. Love them! the vanilla is my favourite but the lime one moisturizes too so it's awful handy to have around.
