Jade is the New Black

I'm really getting into the Fall colours for my polishes! OPI's Jade is the New Black is one of my favourite colours, especially for Fall/Winter, but I like to wear it all year long. My bottle is actually about half empty (or half full?), which really shows you how much I love it, considering the size of my polish collection!

Jade is the New Black was released in OPI's Hong Kong Collection a few years ago, but I believe you can still purchase it. This polish is a creme formula that goes on thick and creamy. I love the formula of this polish, this is almost a one coater, but I find that I do need a second coat to even things out. I always make sure to wear a top coat when I wear this shade because it can be a bit dull without the added shine.

One thing I would suggest with this polish is to allow a lot of drying time. Even when I use my OPI RapiDry Spray, which I love, I still need a lot of time to let my nails dry. If you don't let them fully dry, this polish will smudge, or get the dreaded sheet marks.

I love this forest green creme polish from OPI, it's perfect for any season, but I highly recommend checking it out for Fall/Winter. Have you tried Jade is the New Black before? What are your favourite green polishes? Leave me your recommendations in the comments below! :)

  3. I am rocking this shade right now...pulled it back out this weekend thinking it was prefect - not green and not teal. Putting a thin tip line of metallic black on next to make it last 1 more day for me. Odd - my bottle does not have the issues of dry time that I can recall - did not have it this weekend. Seemed average dry time for a cream. I did let the first coat dry completely (like 45 mins) before putting on the 2nd coat but that was only 'cause I got busy and took time to get back to the 2nd coat...wonder if maybe it's one that cannot be rushed between coats - not too uncommon with some creams I find.

    1. My bottle is a few years old, so the formulation may have changed a bit, make it thicker and adding to the drying time! Or maybe you just got lucky with your bottle! :)
