Schnapps Out Of It!

Now that Fall is approaching, I'm starting to want to wear some deeper, darker colours, but I need to ease my way in! I still like to wear brighter colours in the Fall/Winter months, but I do wear mostly darker colours. OPI's Germany Collection is a great way to ease your way into the new shades, since there are a variety of shades. Schnapps Out Of It! is one of the lighter shades in the collection, and I decided to try it out!

Schnapps Out Of It! looks very pretty in the bottle, a gingerbread shade with silver shimmers. However, on my nails, the shimmer does not show up at all, which is quite disappointing! The colour also looks slightly muddy on my skin tone.

The thing that I absolutely loved about this polish was the formula. One coat was all that was needed for full opacity, which is almost unheard of! That's right, this polish is a one coater! Well done OPI! With one coat I did experience some tip wear on day two, so I applied a second coat. In these pictures, I am wearing two coats.

I loved the formula of this polish, but the colour just isn't anything special to me. I really wish that the silver shimmer had shown up on the nail, because it was promising in the bottle. Have you picked up any colours from OPI's Germany Collection? Let me know which ones you're loving!

Disclosure: This polish was sent to me for my honest review.

  2. This is a great basic autumn colour, it's disappointing that the shimmer didn't translate to the nail! The only polish from the Germany collection I got was Nein! but I still haven't tried it yet.

  3. Yours is the first skin tone/photos I have seen that this shade looked good on. It's showing up warmer on your..maybe because like you said, your bottle the silver shimmer is not showing up on your nails. For me, this shade does a battle between the warmth of the coral/rusty shade and the cool of the silver - usually not a big issue as we all wear silver jewelry now with everything warm to cool shades. But like we all know, there are just some polish shades that look bad on our skin tones. I know when I tried on the sample of this shade while out of town at a place that had a beauty supply store that carries OPI - it looked horrible on me - but then so too did the yellow and the 2 light nude shades in this collection - for me it's got some really hard to wear shades in it - nice to look at and maybe OPI was going for different shades - dusty/dirty kind of shades. Anyhow...again be glad the silver does not show up on you - I think you might not have looked as good in it had the silver really show up. Odd as ever bottle I saw the silver was very present - ditto for other photos of this shade.

    1. Oh it sounds like I got a weird bottle! I think this shade might have looked a lot better with golden shimmers instead of silver.
I agree, some shades just don't go with certain skin tones!
