Elizabeth Grant Moisturizing Stick

With the colder weather approaching (who am I kidding, the colder weather is already here!), I'm looking to find a really moisturizing lip balm. My lips do get quite chapped in the Autumn and Winter, seemingly no matter what products I use. But still, I'm on the hunt for a miracle product!

I received a sample of Elizabeth Grant's Moisturizing Stick in a previous Glossy Box, and I finally decided to try it out. I had such high hopes for this lip balm, after all, it is called a moisturizing stick, and that's just what I needed!

"Moisturizing Stick is a highly moisturizing balm that leaves your lips feeling soft and hydrated. The Moisture Stick is also a great compliment to the At Last Lipstains as it will not disturb the holding properties of the color pigments."

I love the packaging of this product, it's very sleek and sophisticated, in a lip stick bullet. The actual product smells quite good, a bit like watermelon, but very, very faint. Unfortunately, this balm is anything but moisturizing. I was really let down by this product! I feel as though this balm just sits on top of my lips, without actually sinking in and moisturizing. Also, this product has quite bad staying power, it only lasts about 30 minutes to an hour on my lips. I might just keep this as a product to apply over lip sticks or lip stains, but I won't be using it as a lip balm. The full size stick contains 5 grams of product and costs $12 CAD/US.

So, I'm still hunting for the perfect moisturizing lip balm! I have one from Caudalie that I'm going to try out next. And of course, I love the lip butters from The Body Shop, but I'm wanting something in a stick form for on the go application. The little pots are a bit unsanitary to use outside of home. I also want to try out the Reve de Miel lip balms from Nuxe, both the potted and stick form. I've heard great things about them! And then of course there's the La Mer lip balm, but $50 is a bit too steep for my pockets. Christmas present, anyone? ;)

What lip balms do you love and recommend? :)
