Favourite Fall Scents

I've recently been switching up my scents since the colder weather has arrived. This past summer, my go-to perfume was definitely Marc Jacobs' Daisy Eau So Fresh. This perfume is amazing, but it's much more of a spring/summer scent. Lately I've really been into deeper, stronger scents... here's what I've been loving!

Lancome Hypnose Senses:

"Charming. Enchanting. Alluring. Unveil your sensuality with this flirtatious fragrance that expresses a moment of mystery. The voluptuous blend of exotic Osmanthus Flower and Patchouli with a trace of enchanting Pink Pepper is undecidedly sensual while altogether playful."

Top Note: Pink Peppercorn
Heart Note: Osmanthus Flower
Base Note: Patchouli, Benzoin vanilla

I love the bottle for this perfume, "Inside a sensuously curved spiral of clear glass, the fragrance radiates like light-touched skin. The bottle longs to be touched, its edges softly rounded and inviting."

I picked this up in the airport in duty-free a few years ago, but it normally retails for $70 for 50 mL. I find that this perfume has great lasting power, and it is a bit more of a sophisticated scent.

L.A.M.B. by Gwen Stefani:

"L.A.M.B. by Gwen Stefani perfume is Gwen Stefani’s debut fragrance, introduced in 2007. It is a fresh fusion of masculine and feminine with a luscious floral scent that bursts with sparkling notes and then wraps you in the warmth of sensual musks. The packaging reflects all the things Gwen loves, and utilizes the Rasta colors red, yellow and green with turquoise, white and black stripes. This is truly a glamorous, sexy signature scent that is pure Gwen.

Notes:
Top Note: Green Notes,Violet, Water Hyacinth, White Freesia, Fresh Pear Middle Note: Muguet, Jasmine, Rose,Sweet Pea, Orange Blossom Base Note: Frangipani, Peach Skin, Heliotrope, Musks"

This is one of my all-time favourite scents. This perfume is really strong, you only need a spritz or two, and the scent will last the entire day. This perfume is unfortunately discontinued, but I managed to pick mine up in a Shopper's Drug Mart about 6 months ago for only $20! This scent is really deep and is quite musky, but in a good way.

Guess For Women: This is another polish I have bought in duty-free, and I think it might be discontinued now. I have been loving this perfume lately, and I've been wearing it most days. This is a perfume that I have to touch up on and reapply throughout the day, as the lasting power isn't amazing, but I don't mind.

"An absolutely essential and utterly irresistible perfumed creation. The legendary heart-shaped bottle has been boldly reinterpreted with a modern touch. Its crystalline transparency, fading from black to powdery pink, reveals the silhouette of the little, black dress.

Its simple signature enhances and romances several exceptional materials in a bold overdose—black cherry blinks the first wink. It is illustrated by a clever blend that extends exquisite almond and delicious berries. The second wink takes place as rose enters the stage. Finally, the shadowy temptations of licorice and smoky black tea are ever-so-revealing and lead to irresistible seduction. For the ultimate temptation, the entire creation is wrapped in Guerlinade—fresh, enigmatic, and exhilarating, mischievous and captivating.
Style:
Fresh. Enigmatic. Exhilarating"

I received this as a free sample from Sephora, I haven't worn this too many times yet, but it's very lovely. I can definitely detect the berry and almond notes. This perfume is deep but still fresh, it's very interesting!

"In the creation of her debut fragrance, Jennifer Aniston called to mind her earliest and most beloved recollections of scent. Evoking memories of sunny days at the beach and happy summer nights, this captivating composition includes light, blooming floral notes set against a sensual base of musk and woods.

The bottle, inspired by Jennifer's love and appreciation of architecture, references the flow of a Frank Gehry building and the fluidity of a cresting wave."

Notes:
Citrus Grove Accord, Rose Water, Jasmine, Violet, Amazon Lily, Musk, Amber, Sandalwood.
Style:
Sensual. Floral. Clean.

I know a lot of people think of this perfume as a summer scent, but to be it's pure fall and winter! I think that it's a bit deeper, and I can detect the base notes of musk and woods. This is also a scent that you need to try on your skin, because it smells a bit different in the bottle than it does when it's actually on your skin.

"The essence of a woman who is incredibly free. She is not from Paris but Paris adopts her. Because she knows how to love, how to live.

Parisienne, the perfume of ultra femininity, ultra sensuality. A grand floral with a woody structure, luminous even in its mystery."

This fragrance is a bit lighter and more fun than my other fall scents. I do have to say that this perfume has really poor staying power, on my skin it only lasts a few hours.

During the Fall months I like to switch from lighter body lotions, over to body creams and body butters.   My skin can become a bit dry, so I love thick creams. Secret Wonderland from Bath & Body Works is a "thrilling blend of luscious strawberry, frosted jasmine petals and white amber inspires by a world you never dreamed existed." I can smell the strawberry tones in this lotion, but it's not super fruity. Warm Vanilla Sugar is one of my staple "cold weather" products. I make sure to buy this scent every fall/winter, it is so comforting and calming. This is one of Bath & Body Work's best selling scents, and I think they just recently changed up the packaging. I have the matching body wash for this scent, which I'm currently using.

And finally, The Body Shop's Body Butters! I couldn't go through fall and winter without a few tubs of these! I still have two tubs of the Spiced Vanilla scent from the holidays last year, since I stocked up! The Body Shop releases three holiday scents every holiday season, and I always make sure to get their body butter and lip balm in the vanilla scents. Spiced Vanilla is a nice twist on the traditional vanilla scent, it has some kick to it! The Mango Body Butter is another wintertime essential for me. Not because of the smell, although its amazing, but because the Mango scent is sooo hydrating and thick! I've already dipped into my tub, and I love it as a night time lotion.

What scents are you loving for the Fall season? Do we have any scents in common? :) I'm also really wanting to pick up the Roberto Cavalli perfume, because it's amazing. I don't know how much longer I can hold out on that purchase. I also really want a bottle of L'Eau de Chloé, I've had a sample of this and adored it. And then of course Philosophy has some amazing Fall scents out right now, I have my eye on Old Fashioned Eggnog, it smells just like the real thing!
Sorry for the lengthy post, I guess I have a lot of favourites! :)

  2. I also use a ton of mango body butter since it's one of The Body Shop's thicker & more moisturizing ones. I need that because my legs get so dry in the winter. Cool post:)
