Lush Happy Happy Joy Joy

Lush has recently released some new hair care items, including the new vegan hair conditioner: Happy Happy Joy Joy*. I've only ever used a solid conditioner from Lush: Jungle, but never a liquid conditioner, so I was excited to try this out!

Happy Happy Joy Joy, as described by Lush:

"Finally, another vegan conditioner! A rose water, orange blossom water and almond milk base soften, beautify and condition hair. It works wonderfully on bleached and over-processed hair, and on everyone else too as it is rich and moisturizing, but doesn't weigh hair down. Orange flower absolute, rosewood and grapefruit oils perfume your hair to make you feel Happy Happy all day long."

This conditioner is fairly strongly scented, so definitely take a sniff of this in stores before you buy it! The scent is very floral, but it smells genuine, not like a fake floral scent. I find that this scent does stay in my hair, but it does fade. If you wear your hair up, you won't be able to smell anything. I personally love scented products, but I don't like the scents to stick around for too long. Except of course, perfumes. Since I do wear perfume daily, I like that to be the only scent, not competing with my hair. I wash my hair at night, and I find that by morning I can't smell Happy Happy Joy Joy any more.

I have dry, damaged hair, so I was skeptical as to whether this conditioner would work for me. This conditioner is fairly thin, but it does pack some hydration! I was quite pleasantly surprised :) Since this is on the thinner side, I thought that I would need more product to coat my hair, but don't waste this product! You only need a little bit, and I concentrate it mostly on my ends of my hair.

I found my hair to be shiny, soft, smooth, but I still did have some frizz. Any girls with curly or wavy hair will know how hard it is to beat that frizz! I quite enjoyed this conditioner, and I would recommend it to anyone who wants a vegan, cruelty-free option. This is a great light conditioner for  anyone with colour-treated, damaged, thick, or thin hair. I love Lush, and I love discovering more of their products!

Happy Happy Joy Joy ranges from $12.95-$39.95, which I do think is quite pricey for a conditioner. Ask for a sample, or buy the smaller 100 ml bottle to test it out before splurging on the larger size :)

Have you tried any of Lush's new hair care items? Which ones are your favourites?
