Lush Popcorn Lip Scrub

Winter is on it's way, it's inevitable (at least for us here in Canada and colder climates!), and winter means dry skin for most of us. I change up my skincare routine in the wintertime, not too much, but just to add some extra moisture. I love intensive moisturizing face masks, deep conditioners, body butters, and exfoliators. Exfoliators are so important in drier, colder months, because you can slough away skin cells.

Berry lips are so in this Fall and Winter, and if you suffer from dry, flaky lips, than this lip look might be hard to pull off. A lip scrub will be your best friend in the colder months, and I have Lush's new Popcorn Lip Scrub* to share with you today! This lip scrub is a new addition to their line, and it is a part of their Christmas Collection this year.

Lush Popcorn Lip Scrub

I've never used a lip scrub from Lush before, but I've always been really curious about them! I have a lip scrub from Bath & Body Works that I really enjoy, but it's always nice to try something new. What's interesting about this lip scrub is the formula: it's pretty much just flavoured/scented sugar crystals. I'm used to a more oily lip scrub, so this was a big change!

"Mmm! A simply scrumptious sugar and salt lip scrub for the holidays. We haven't been able to keep our hands off this one. Lips can get particularly dry and flakey in winter weather, so it's especially important to exfoliate. Use this one and keep your lips sweet, smooth and tasty all season long. The sweet and slightly salty popcorn flavor will make you want to lick this scrub right off your lips; but that's okay, we do it too!"

I've been using this every morning and night, or before I'm applying a deeper lipstick. I just take a little bit out of the jar, and rub onto my lips. This can be a bit tricky because the formula is so dry. Once this is on my lips, I rub it in, and rub my lips together. Then, I rinse it off with some warm water. I choose not to lick this off, because if you really think about it, you're licking off both the lip scrub, and all of the dead skin cells that were on your lips!

Once I wash this off, my lips are left feeling so smooth and refreshed! I was really amazed at how lovely my lips felt :) They will feel a bit dry, so definitely keep a moisturizing lip balm near by.

Lush Popcorn Lip Scrub

Popcorn is only here for the holidays, but Lush has other lip scrubs in their permanent line. Each pot contains 0.8 oz and costs $8.95. Of course, I know that you could make your own scrubs at home for a lot cheaper. If you wanted to do that, go right ahead! But I think these are really fun, and I wouldn't be able to recreate these scents by myself. You need such little product, I think this little jar should last quite a long time.

I've been loving Lush's holiday collection so far, have you picked up any products from this collection yet? :) What are your favourite lip scrubs?

  1. I love the Mint Juleps scrub. How does this one taste? Does it taste like the popcorn flavored Jelly Belly?
