I've always been a fan of pressed powders, and I usually tended to use ones that had a bit of pigment and coverage to them. This one from MAKE UP FOR EVER is quite different to what I was used to, as it is a loose powder, and is completely translucent. I was quite skeptical of this product, since I've never used a translucent powder before. I didn't think that this product would do anything for my skin, but I was wrong! Here's how MAKE UP FOR EVER describes their HD Microfinish Powder:
What it is:
A universal translucent finishing powder to be applied over foundation or worn alone.
What it does:
Sets the foundation and slightly mattifies skin without changing its natural contours. This 100% mineral silica powder softens the appearance of imperfections. Completely evens out the complexion for a glowing, radiant look. One universal shade for all skintones.
What else you need to know:
It's completely translucent and goes on any skintone. Its dermatologist-tested and talc-free formula does not dry the skin and is formulated with 100% silica.
I apply this with a kabuki brush, and buff it into my skin. I tend to use this overtop of BB Cream or foundation, but you could use this on bare skin as well. What I love about this powder is the flawless finish that it creates. This powder gives a gorgeous matte look, without being cakey. I've been using Garnier's BB Cream, which can appear a bit oily at first, so I love using this powder over top for a matte look.
I know I've heard people say that this powder creates a white cast in photos, but I haven't noticed that at all. You really only need a tiny amount of this powder to cover your entire face, you don't need to pile it on to get results. I have the smaller jar, 0.17 oz, and I still have most of my jar remaining. I also really love using this powder to set my under eye concealer, I think it works really well at keeping my concealer in place, and it prevents any creasing.
I think this may be my new favourite powder! I've tried out a ton of pressed powders, and recently I tried loose powders from bareMinerals, and this one from MUFE is my favourite. Have you tried this one before? What is your holy grail powder? Leave me a comment below! :)
I have a sample of this and haven't tried it! Now I want to!!:-)

DeleteI have this product and love it! Onto my second jar! Have you had any issues with appearing a bit white in flash photos? I've heard that from a few people, but maybe they're just using too much.
ReplyDeleteNo I haven't had that issue at all! I think maybe that would happen if you used too much of this product, or if you didn't buff it into your skin?
