MAKE UP FOR EVER Aqua Cream #16

I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas break, and that you got to spend this time with the people you love. I had a very, very busy holiday, between working retail hours and visiting with my boyfriends' family. Today is my first day off with nothing to do, and I'm quite looking forward to it! :)

I'm a lover of a good eye shadow base, and I've discovered quite a few good ones in 2012. MAKE UP FOR EVER's Aqua Creams create a beautiful base to apply other powder shadows over top of, but they are also lovely on their own. The Aqua Cream #16* is a beautiful pinky beige with shimmer.

What it is:
An ultra-pigmented, long-lasting waterproof cream.

What it does:

Aqua Cream combines the highest-quality pigments with mother of pearl particles to give immediate rich color payoff with a luminous finish in just one application. It's long-lasting formulation will not crease or smudge under the most extreme conditions and its creamy and elastic texture allows for easy blending.

What else you need to know:
Available in shades ranging from soft neutrals to pure bright tones, you can find the perfect color for any purpose.
Shades #5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 are formulated for the Lips & Cheeks.

Sephora is the exclusive beauty retailer for this product.

I apply these Aqua Creams with my fingers, as I find that is the easiest way. The formula of these is so creamy and highly pigmented. I don't use a separate eye primer when I use these, as the lasting power is excellent by itself. If you wanted to compare these to Maybelline's Color Tattoos, I would have to say that the staying power is equal, but the MUFE Aqua Creams are more pigmented, easier to blend, and creamier.

#16 is a beautiful shade for pairing under any neutral eye shadow. Lately I've been gravitating towards the lighter shades in Urban Decay's Naked Palette, or Stila's In The Light Palette, and these shadows work perfectly over this Aqua Cream.

I can apply my eye shadows in the morning, and my make up is still looking excellent by 11pm. Now, I don't have oily eyelids, and I don't generally have a problem with my eye shadow creasing. However, I do find that the Aqua Creams make my eye shadows more vibrant, and I experience less fallout with my shadows (perhaps since the shadows have something to "stick" to?).

The Aqua Creams are sold exclusively at Sephora, and they cost $25-$26 CAD for 0.21 oz. These are on the pricer side, but I think that if you go for a more wearable shade like #16, you would be able to get a ton of use out of it.

Have you tried any of these Aqua Creams from MAKE UP FOR EVER? What shades do you recommend? :)
