Kissable Lips for Valentines Day!

With Valentine's Day quickly sneaking up on us, I thought I would share my tips on how to get your lips silky smooth and kissable! Whether you're spending the day with your partner or your bff, there's something for everyone.

Firstly, I recommend giving your lips a good scrub to get rid of old skin cells, and to leave your lips smooth and refreshed. My favourite lip scrub at the moment is Lush's Popcorn Lip Scrub* (reviewed here). This was released in the Christmas Collection, but they have other scents that are available year round.

I always make sure to apply a lip balm after exfoliating my lips, and I've really been loving both Caudalie's Lip Conditioner (reviewed here), and Nuxe's Reve de Miel Lip Balm. Both are fairly thick and very moisturizing. Caudalie's smells like grapes, while Nuxe's smells like Terry's chocolate orange!

Now onto lip colour! For Valentine's Day, I recommend going with something subtle, but still very pretty. My boyfriend hates when I wear glosses (he thinks it looks nice, but never wants to kiss me with "all that goop on my lips"!). If your boyfriend or girlfriend feels the same way about lip products, go with a tinted lip balm, or a pale pink.

Left to Right: Maybelline Color Whisper in Petal Rebel, MAKE UP FOR EVER Rouge Artist Natural in N21*, Benefit Full-Finish Lipstick in Mod Squad, Lush's The Kiss*

Maybelline Color Whisper in Petal Rebel - The Color Whisper line is incredibly hydrating and the tinted balms actually offer great colour pay off! I've been obsessed with this new line lately, and Petal Rebel is a beautiful, girly light pink shade.

MAKE UP FOR EVER Rouge Artist Natural in N21 (reviewed here)- The Rouge Artist Natural line from MUFE offers a very hydrating dash of colour. If you hate the feeling of traditional long-wearing lipsticks, then try the Rouge Artist Natural line, they are very comfortable to wear. These give your lips a fair amount of colour, but it isn't opaque. N21 is a beautiful baby pink with slight blue undertones.

Benefit Full-Finish Lipstick in Mod Squad - I recently rediscovered this shade in my stash, and I've been loving it! Benefit's lipsticks are very moisturizing, and they last for a fairly long time. Mod Squad is a very flattering shade of light pink, and I like wearing it on its own, or under lip glosses in the same colour family.

Lush's The Kiss (reviewed here) - If you just want a very sheer wash of colour with some shine to your lips, this is the product for you. I love the scent of this one, it's very sweet. This is technically a gloss, but I find it to be more of a moisturizing tinted balm with some shine to it.

So those are my top picks for Valentines Day! I'm not sure which shade I'll be wearing myself yet, but I'm loving the light baby pink look this year. Will you be rocking a traditional red lip, a gloss, a pink, coral, purple, or just a balm?

What are your plans for Valentines Day? :)
