Lush Ultra Bland

Lately I've been trying out a new cleanser, Lush’s Ultra Bland! This cleansing balm has peaked my interest for so long, I'm glad I finally tried it out.

From Lush:

"A hugely popular cult product, Ultrabland is a thick, rich emulsion of essential oils, honey and beeswax to take off any make up or residue that has built up on your face throughout the day. Unlike most make up removers, Ultrabland leaves your skin feeling soft and nourished, thanks to soothing rosewater and iris flower extract. Suitable for all skin types, Ultrabland is a classic LUSH cleanser coveted by staff and customers alike for it’s effectiveness. Not so bland after all, is it?"

This is the first cleansing balm that I've ever used, and now I see why they've become so popular! I only use Ultra Bland at night, when I'm removing my makeup. I take a small amount in my hands, and rub it into to my dry face. Make sure your face is dry, because I don’t think that you would get the full benefits of this balm when mixed with water. As I’m rubbing this into my face, I can see the makeup coming off. I always use eye makeup remover to get my mascara, shadow, and liner off, but Ultra Bland helps get every last trace of makeup off.

I then rinse my face with warm water to remove all of Ultra Bland. I do find that this balm leaves me with a slight oily residue, but I normally use an exfoliator following using this product, which removes all of the oils. If you don’t want to use an exfoliator, I would suggest just using a toner on a cotton pad to remove any leftover residue or oils.

I find Ultra Bland very moisturizing, and my face is always left feeling so soft and hydrated after I use this cleanser. This product has been such a lifesaver in the Winter months, since it has kept my skin from becoming dry, flaky, or irritated. This cleansing balm is unscented, and I think that it would work perfectly for sensitive skin types.

Have you tried Lush’s Ultra Bland? What are your favourite cleansing balms? :)

  2. Sounds nice. Where do you purchase this at? I have never seen it when I am out shopping. It sounds like something I would like. Right now I use Noxzema like I have since I was a teenager, but I need a cleanser that isn't my Mom's and Grandma's you know?
