"Inspired by the 1930s cinematic transition from black-and-white motion picture to color imagery, Technicolor Palette features bold, saturated colors that bring the eyes to life. Mix and match the eight shades to create highly pigmented, long-lasting looks that reflect any style or mood. This palette features three exclusive colors, including the season’s coveted yellow shade, along with a mirror and two round brushes for application on the go."
First off, I love the packaging of this palette! The bold, bright neons are so eye-catching. I was also surprised by how thin this palette is, it's actually very slim and tiny! This palette would be amazing to travel with.
The Technicolor Palette includes 8 shadows, 2 brushes, and a large mirror. These brushes are actually quite great, and they aren't the standard foam tip brushes that come in most palettes. I used both brushes to create an eye look with this palette, and I didn't have any problems with them.
I found that all of the shades had good pigment, but I would have liked to see them pack more of a punch. I found that they swatched more vibrantly on my eyes than they did on my hands. The Lilac shade was the only one that really left me wanting a bit more, as it is a bit chalky and not as pigmented as the other shades. I used Maybelline's Color Tattoo in Too Cool as a primer/base, as I find that it makes any shadows pop that you place on top of it.
The packaging of the Technicolor Palette has two tutorials. I followed the easy steps for the 2nd "Get the Look" option for the eye look above! The colours are very easy to apply and blend. My shadow stayed looking vibrant all day long, until I removed my makeup at night.
When my boyfriend saw my eyes he was so surprised! He said he loved the look, and that it was a nice change from the neutral looks I normally wear. I had a lot of fun playing around with this palette, and I can see myself getting a lot of use out of it. This palette really only has three vibrant shades (blue, green, and yellow), and then the other colours are very wearable. The mix of brights and neutrals makes this palette such a great option, and there is so much variety in the looks that you can create.
MAKE UP FOR EVER's Technicolor Palette is $50 CAD, and can be found at Sephora and MAKE UP FOR EVER boutiques. Are you a fan of the bright shades in this palette, or do you prefer neutrals? I'm a fan of this palette, and I can't wait to play around with it more, and create a ton of fun looks! :)
Super cute! I love the rainbow look, it looks fabulous!

DeleteBeautiful! I'd be so nervous wearing some of these shades, but I like that you mentioned most of them are wearable. :) Great job on your eyes and thanks for the review!

DeleteI was nervous when I first saw the palette, but they're actually beautiful and not too bold when on the eyes! :)
I love this eye look. I'm on a no-buy right now, but I'd love to have this palette though.
ReplyDeleteThanks! When your no-boy is over you should check it out if it's still available! It's such a great palette :)
