MAKE UP FOR EVER Powder Blush #99

Today I have a blush to share with you! MAKE UP FOR EVER's Powder Blush #99* coincides with one of Pantone's colour picks for 2013 - Poppy Red. I'm loving all of Pantone's colour picks for 2013, and poppy red is such a beautiful shade for cheeks.

MAKE UP FOR EVER's Powder Blushes are packaged identically to their powder eye shadows. The small square packaging is very travel friendly, and will fit into any makeup bag. The small clear strip on the front of the packaging allows you to see the product shade, making it very easy to distinguish between shades in your collection. The packaging is magnetic, and the product pan also has a magnet on the back, making it very easy to de-pot.

Shade 99 is a matte poppy red. I love red blushes, and I find that they are actually quite hard to find! A lot of companies are sticking to peaches and pinks, which I also love, but sometimes I just want a red blush. #99 is very smooth in consistency, and blends well on my cheeks. The matte shades in MAKE UP FOR EVER's range are meant to be very pigmented, so a little goes a long way. I use a Sigma F40 to apply my blush, and I start off with a small amount of product on my brush, and then build up from there.

I think that shade #99 adds a really nice warmth to my cheeks. This is the type of shade that mimics a natural flush colour. This formula from MUFE stays on my cheeks all day long, although I think that my Tarte blushes still last longer. This one from MUFE stays strong for about 8 hours, and then starts to gradually fade.

MAKE UP FOR EVER'S Powder Blushes retail for $23 CAD for 2.5g. Have you tried any of MUFE's blushes? What shades do you recommend? :)

  1. I haven't tried any of these blushes, but I must! This shade in particular looks gorgeous! Glad to hear it lasted the better part of the day on you. :) And thanks for showing it on your cheek rather than just a swatch. It gives me a better idea of how it will look.

    Great review! xo

  6. I love red blushes too! Love the flushed look they give.. This shade looks wonderful.. I haven't tried any MUFE blushes before.. You got me all curious about them now =P Two wonderful red blushes I own are Sleek Sacandalous which apparently is a dupe for NARS exhibit A and Illamasqua Panic.. Both are so wonderful on the skin.. Sleek one id brighter with a slight orange tint to it and the Illamasqua one is a pure brick red!

    1. My other red blushes are Tarte's Natural Beauty and NARS' Cactus Flower (cream blush), I love both! NARS Exhibit A look beautiful, I need to try it out. And I haven't tried too much from Illamasqua as my Sephora doesn't carry it :(
