NARS Albatross

Today I bring you one of my all time favourite highlighters: NARS Albatross! I've been using Albatross for about a year now, and I actually hit pan about a month ago. In the pan, this highlighter can look quite scary and stark, but once it's swatched, it's really beautiful.

NARS' Albatross is a powder highlighter, and I use a Sigma F86 or a Sigma F84 to apply to my cheek bones, nose, and cupids bow. Albatross applies beautifully, leaving a golden sheen to my skin. This highlighter isn't subtle, but I don't think that it's gaudy or over the top either. You just need the tiniest amount of this powder in order to achieve a gorgeous luminosity to your skin. Albatross adds a nice healthy glow to my skin, and helps to accentuate my cheekbones. I love pairing this highlighter with most of my blushes, but my favourites are NARS' Lustre, Deep Throat, Sin, and Tarte's Exposed. Today I decided to layer NARS' Albatross over Stila's Convertible Color in Sweet Pea. I think that this pair is beautiful, and perfect for the Spring months.

As with all of NARS's blushes, Albatross has excellent staying power. The powder applies evenly, and isn't the least bit chalky. Albatross is the highlighter that I reach for almost every single day, and when my compact runs out, I will definitely be repurchasing.

Have you tried NARS' Albatross? What are your favourite highlighters?

  2. how do you have photos of it so perfect? haha, I am dealing with this as I want to review products I have been using and don't have photos of them pristine, I figured I'd check out your reviews of products you'd been using awhile but no help! :P

    1. I had taken pictures of this when I first got it, but it took me ages to get around to reviewing it! aha! Sorry! :p

    2. :P not helpful at all! I have some photos like that, but loads of things I started using without taking photos either before my blog or because I was impatient. Ah well, partially used makeup will be showing up on my blog (hopefully, since I'm not planning to buy anymore any time soon!)

    4. that is definitely my goal for 2014. Ever since I started my blog I have 32480384 times the makeup in like six months, so I really need to try using the things that I have. you are so good at finishing makeup though! I always notice lots in your monthly empties and I don't know how you do it. hopefully I will end up with some more makeup empties this year though!

    5. I know what you mean, that's definitely my goal for 2014 as well! I'm pretty good at sticking to the same foundations, concealers, mascara, and lip balms, but everything else takes me ages to use up!
