Maybelline Color Tattoo Pure Pigment - Wild Gold

Maybelline has just released a new addition to their Color Tattoo line, Pure Pigments. When I first heard this news, I was thrilled! I absolutely love Maybelline's Color Tattoo line, and I use these cream shadows as bases every day. So, of course I would be happy about any new additions to this line! This is my first experience with pigments from any brand, so I was a bit scared and intimidated. However, these Pure Pigments are really easy to use, so don't be scared!

The first shade I tried out was Wild Gold*, which is pretty similar to the Color Tattoo in Gold Rush (reviewed here). These Pure Pigments come housed in little black plastic pots that contain 1.5 grams of products. The bottom of the jars are colour coded to the product inside, and the lids are black with the shade name and number. The jar itself has a clear lid with several holes, so you can easily shake out the pigment into the lid without creating a mess.

Wild Gold is a beautiful yellow gold shade that comes off with a metallic finish. This shade does swatch semi-sheer, so I decided to use Maybelline's Color Tattoo in Gold Rush as a base. This combination is beautiful, and I think it creates a perfect look for Summer!

I applied the Pure Pigment with a Sigma E55, which is a dense brush, perfect for packing on the colour! I did experience a fair bit of fall-out while applying this Pure Pigment, so definitely keep that in mind. An easy fix is holding a tissue underneath your eyes while applying the pigment, so your face is left fall-out free!

Are you excited about the new Maybelline Color Tattoo Pure Pigments? I'm really happy to see a drug store company putting out pigments, it's not that common! I can't wait to try out all of the shades in the collection!

  2. These look really pretty! I wonder how long it'll be before the UK gets them. Our colour tattoos aren't exactly the same as across the water and have different names and some of the shades are a bit different. I'd be interested in trying one of these out though!

I agree, I do wish they were a bit more pigmented, but layered over the Color Tattoos they really pop!
