New Hair!

So I made a pretty big change to my hair, and I thought I would share my new look with you all! My hair was getting crazy long, and slightly unmanageable, so I decided to get a good chop. Originally, I was just going to get a few inches taken off the ends, but then I realized I had enough hair to donate. Locks of Love requires 10 inches for a donation, so that's what I told my hairdresser to do. However, she ended up taking off 14 inches(!!!) because she wasn't sure if the longer layers counted towards the total length. My hair is still just past my shoulders, so I didn't go crazy and get a pixi cut or anything.

A few days after I got the cut, I decided I wanted to change up my colour as well. I've been a blonde my entire life, but I've always wanted to experiment with different hair colours. Every time I tried to go blonder, my hair simply rejected the dye. So this time I decided to go darker. I turned to Garnier's Olia at home hair dye, and I have to admit that I was nervous! I used the shade 4.3 Dark Golden Blonde, and I absolutely love the results! This dye is ammonia free, and I can honestly say that there was no harsh smell associated with this dye. In fact, there was no scent at all! I was absolutely amazed! There was more than enough dye to fully saturate all of my hair, and then some left over. However, if I had dyed my hair before the chop, I would have definitely needed two bottles. I left the dye on my hair for 25 minutes, and the washed out and applied the conditioner. I found that the dye rinsed out quickly, maybe within 2 minutes the water was running clear. I then used the conditioner, which made my hair shiny and smooth.

I would definitely use the Garnier Olia range again, and hopefully the colour stays vibrant for quite a while. Have you tried Garnier Olia before? What is your preferred at home hair dye system? And what do you think about my new hair!? :)
