Lush Love Lettuce Fresh Face Mask

Lush has an amazing recycling program, so that when you return 5 empty and clean black pots, you get a free Fresh Face Mask! I took part in this program this past week, and I decided to pick up Love Lettuce ($6.95). So far, the only Fresh Face Masks I've tried from Lush have been Catastrophe Cosmetic (reviewed here) and Cupcake (reviewed here). Needless to say, I was super excited to try out this formula, especially since I've been hearing so many amazing reviews!

"Love Lettuce is our most exfoliating mask that scoops up dirt, oil and debris and washes it all away. Exfoliation is an important part of good skincare, as it removes the buildup of dead skin that can clog your pores and cause imbalances. Love Lettuce is a great example of how a few ingredients can make a fresh, effective product for the skin. We blend fresh seaweed to nourish and soften with 100% pure French lavender oil to balance an oily T-zone and ease any inflammation. Use Love Lettuce for bright, fresh skin that glows from the inside out."

Lush's Fresh Face Masks have to be kept in the fridge, and they only have a shelf life of three weeks. While I have one of these tubs, I do make sure to use the face mask consistently. I've found that the expiration isn't set in stone, and I have used a mask a few days after it had "expired". I would only use it a few days after the expiration date though, because after that you can start to tell that it's going off.

Love Lettuce doesn't have a very strong scent, which is nice for anyone with sensitive skin. I've found that Love Lettuce helps to reduce any oils, without making my skin dry. This formula helped reduce any blemishes that I had, which I was really pleased about! I apply a light layer of this face mask all over my face, and leave it on for about 10 minutes. As I rinse this mask off I make sure to massage the product into my skin, since there are exfoliating pieces in the formula. I follow up with Lush's Tea Tree Water, and my moisturizer.

If you haven't tried any of Lush's Fresh Face Masks before, I highly recommend them. I do suggest only picking up one pot at a time though, because it's hard to use them up before they expire. Unless you have a sister or a roommate to share the mask with, one pot will last you the entire three week life span. So, I'm adding Love Lettuce to my list of amazing Fresh Face Masks, along with Cupcake and Catastrophe Cosmetic! I'm also wanting to try out Oatifix and BB Seaweed, so they're on my wish list! Once I'm done with Love Lettuce I'll be one black pot closer to yet another Fresh Face Mask :) What are your favourite face masks from Lush? Have you tried Love Lettuce before?

  1. I haven't tried Love Lettuce yet, but I would like to. The three I've tried are Cupcake, BB Seaweed and Oatifix. I have 2 tubs of Oatifix (my favourite! :D) in my freezer, which makes me be able to hang on to them almost indefinately. :) I just scoop a little out when I want to use it, warm it up on my hand, and then it is good to go! :D
I also keep my Angels in the freezer and that makes it last longer too :D

  2. I think I will pass on this one. It's seaweed, it's green, and with a 3 week expiration that seems more like a food item than a cosmetic. And it will be cold when you use it seeing as it is kept in the refrigerator.

  3. I love Cupcake and have bought quite a few in the last few years. I also live off Ocean Salt, and this mask sounds slightly similar so I will definitely be checking it out when I go in next time!
