MAKE UP FOR EVER Aqua Rouge #8

I've really been getting into wearing a bright, bold red lip this Summer. I've always shied away from bold lips, but over the past few months I've really embraced the brighter colours. I think that a bold lip can completely transform any makeup look. I also love the look of a statement lip with just a hint of mascara and nothing else. One of my favourite red lip products is MAKE UP FOR EVER's Aqua Rouge in shade #8 Iconic Red* ($29 CAD).

From Sephora:

"Formulated with a combination of high molecular weight polymers and volatile oils, Aqua Rouge locks color on the lips for a smudge-proof result that will not transfer or fade. Its intensely pigmented formula provides immediate, opaque color with extreme shine, and its creamy, non-sticky texture glides effortlessly on the lips for comfortable wear."

The Aqua Rouge line from MUFE is a two step product. First, I apply two coats of the colour, which comes with a doe foot applicator. I let the colour dry for about 30 seconds between coats. You are then left with a matte lip colour, which I find very uncomfortable. I definitely think that the second step is necessary. Next, I apply the clear gloss, which comes with a brush applicator. This adds a shiny, glossy finish, and seals in the colour.

#8 Iconic Red is a beautiful true red shade that wears for hours and hours. This Aqua Rouge line is probably the longest-wearing lip product that I've ever found, and it won't even come off while eating or drinking. I reach for this lip colour when I'm going to be going out for dinner, since I know it will stay on throughout the entire meal. #8 is a very easy shade to pull off, even though it is a bold red lip.

I wore this shade on Canada Day, earlier this month. If you're in the market for a new red lip product, I highly recommend checking out MAKE UP FOR EVER's Aqua Rouge line. This colour does not transfer onto my teeth, it doesn't fade, crease, or wander outside of my lips. I absolutely love it, and I've also been eyeing shades #16, #2, and #18. Have you tried the Aqua Rouge line before? What shades are your favourites? :)
