Sephora + Disney Ariel Mermaid's Song Lipgloss Set

Sephora's Reigning Beauties' collections are always tugging at the heartstrings of women and girls, and the Ariel installment will be no exception. Today I have the Mermaid's Song Lipgloss Set* ($38 USD/$46 CAD) to share with you!

"Be empowered, be bold, and find your voice with this set of four pigmented, glistening glosses that are fun and flirty, with a hint of feisty."

This set contains four glosses in plastic tubes with an angled plastic applicator. I have to say that I am a bit disappointed with the packaging for this lipgloss set, and I would have like for the glosses to look a bit more special. I think that a lot of the appeal to the Reigning Beauties Collections is the packaging, and you want to feel like a princess when using these products! The shade name for each of the glosses is just printed on a little sticker and stuck on the backs of the tubes. Not a huge deal, but I would have like to have seen a bit more attention to detail!

"Dream Girl"

"Red Head"

"Sea Witch"

I do really love the variety of colours included in this set, there has to be something to suit anyone's needs and preferences! Dream Girl is a very pretty nude-pink creme. Mermaid is a beautiful coral creme. Red Head is a red creme with heavy orange undertones. Sea Witch is a deep vampy purple shade. The formula of these glosses is okay... they are on the thicker side and slightly difficult to apply through the plastic applicator. You do have to work with these glosses to get even coverage, as they can apply a bit splotchy. Sea Witch was especially tricky to apply evenly. These glosses are very creamy and moisturizing, and they stay on my lips for about 3 hours before I need to reapply. These glosses aren't sticky at all, which is great. There isn't much of a scent to these glosses, at least not that I can detect!

Left to right: Dream Girl, Mermaid, Red Head, Sea Witch

If you are a super fan of Ariel and The Little Mermaid, then pick up this lipgloss set. Otherwise, I think you can definitely find better glosses on the market. Seeing as you can only buy these glosses as a set, I think your $46 can be better spent. I think the the eye shadow palettes and the perfumes from this Ariel Collection are amazing, and I highly recommend those.

Are you going to be picking up any of the Ariel Collection items? Who do you want to see as the next "Reigning Beauty"? :)
