Top 5 Hair Oils

Over the past year I've become a huge fan of hair oils. I used to think that oils would simply make my hair look oily and greasy, but I couldn't have been more wrong! My hair is colour treated, dry, damaged, and is naturally wavy.  I find that oils can drastically help my hair, and now I make sure to apply a hair oil after every wash!

1. Vichy NutriExtra Extraordinary Oil* (reviewed here) - This is a dry oil and it comes with a spray pump. I tend to reach for this product when my hair feels dry and needs an added boot of moisture. I typically only use this oil on dry hair as a refresher. This formula from Vichy can also be used on the face and body.

2. Macadamia Natural Oil Healing Oil Treatment* (reviewed here) - This oil claims to help prolong the life of colour treatments, and leaves my hair feeling soft and manageable. This oil actually speeds up the drying time for my hair, which is a huge bonus! This formula has a nice light scent that I really like.

3. Suave Moroccan Infusion Styling Oil (reviewed here) - This drugstore hair oil performs on the same level as all of my other more expensive oils! I add 2 pumps of this oil to the ends of my hair, and afterwards I can notice less frizz, a healthy shine, and softer hair.

4. Ojon Rare Blend Oil Total Hair Therapy (reviewed here) - This hair oil settles and separates to three different layers, so make sure to shake up your bottle before you use it. I love the scent of this oil, it smells just like Ojon's Revitalizing Mist. You only need a tiny amount of this formula, or else your hair will feel a bit greasy. I use less than a pea sized amount, and my hair is left feeling smooth, soft, and my frizz is reduced.

5. Josie Maran 100% Pure Argan Oil - This is another oil that is multi-purpose, and I like to use it on my hair, face, and hands. This argan oil is very hydrating, and I typically turn to this formula in the colder Winter months.

Are you also a fan of hair oils? If you haven't ventured into the world of hair oils, I highly recommend giving them a try, especially if you have dry, frizzy, or dull hair. What are you favourite hair oils? :)

  1. I haven't tried a hair oil yet! I do have a tiny sample of one though that came with another product so I should test it out and see. It's none of these brands, though I have heard amazing things about Macadamia and really want to try their hair repair masque as well! given the prices and the fact that you think it's just as good, I'd probably pick up the suauve one though!
