MAKE UP FOR EVER Artisan Brush #214

MAKE UP FOR EVER has recently released their Artisan Brush Collection, which contains 76 brushes. These brushes are all hand-crafted in the island of the Mauritius. Each brush is a 2-in-1 tool, with both a beveled tip handle and brush. Today I have their Artisan Brush #214* ($29 CAD) to share with you!

"After five years in development with makeup artists and fiber experts, MAKE UP FOR EVER Artisan Brushes are a revolution in brush craftsmanship. The 100-percent fiber brushes are available in a range of 76 handcrafted styles, each with the perfect balance of straight and wavy fibers that replicate natural hairs. Beveled tips create a two-in-one makeup brush and tool, while innovative hair density and brush head shapes optimize every stroke for ideal makeup application. To achieve the ultimate collection, every brush has gone through 25 production stages by 30 craftsmen and has been checked for quality 50 times." - Sephora

"What it is: A firm, but flexible brush used to apply product precisely to the crease of the eye.

What it does:
This long, pointed brush is ideal for precise application and blending in the crease of the eye. The softness of the bristles allows for meticulous control similar to a calligraphy brush. It features straight fibers, and can be used with both loose and pressed powders. " - Sephora

This brush has synthetic fibers, which are incredibly soft! MAKE UP FOR EVER's intended use for this brush is for applying and blending shadows to the crease. However, I find that this brush is a bit too small for this purpose. I like to use #214 to apply a highlight shade to my inner corner or brow bone. For this purpose, I absolutely love this brush. You can pack on quite a bit of colour if you wanted to, or dip the brush lightly into a loose or pressed shadow for a lighter application. The handle of the brush is sturdy but still quite light. I honestly haven't found a use for the beveled tip handle, but I've heard that it is great to help with false lash application!

Have you checked out any of MAKE UP FOR EVER's new Artisan Brushes? What are your favourite make up brushes? :)
