I have another item to share with you from AERIN's New York City Color Collection! I've been using AERIN's Lipstick in Madison* ($34 CAD) a ton, it's such a beautiful colour, and it's perfect for Fall/Winter. The packaging of AERIN's lipstick is beautiful, a rectangular block of gold. I was surprised that there wasn't any branding on the outside of the packaging, only on the inner tube. This lipstick has a nice weight to it, and it does look and feel very high-end.
"Two new shades of AERIN Lipstick reflect the dichotomy of the city. Madison is a modern take on a nude lip – strong, yet subtle. In striking contrast, Mercer resonates in deep merlot, adding easy drama to any fall look. Uptown or downtown, the signature floral infusion in both the Lipstick and Lip Gloss revitalizes the senses with every touch-up, leaving lips soft and smooth."
“Inspired by an afternoon in the city, with a brisk walk through Central Park or a visit to the museum, this collection speaks to my Fall staples – a great peacoat, a pair of sunglasses and the perfect touch of color on my lips and cheeks.” – Aerin Lauder, Founder and Creative Director, AERIN"
Madison is a beautiful muted berry that is Aerin Lauder's new take on a nude lip. I think that this shade would be great for anyone wanting to venture into the world of berry lips, but isn't comfortable rocking a vampy lip. This formula is very creamy hydrating, and it lasts on my lips for about 4 hours, which I'm very happy with. The cream formula feels really nice on my lips, and it's something a bit different for me, since I do normally reach for something with a bit of shimmer. This is a lipstick that you could wear on it's own, or layer glosses over. This lipstick does have a very slight floral scent to it, but it doesn't irritate my lips at all.
I think that Madison is a beautiful lipstick that would pair perfectly with any eye and cheek combo. This berry is very muted, that it also passes as a nude lip, but it isn't boring. What do you think about AERIN's Madison? Have you check out her New York City Color Collection yet?
Oh I love this shade! Just the right amount of exciting for me :) Intriguing about the packaging and lack of branding.
