John Frieda Luminous Glaze Clear Shine Gloss

Ever since I've started colouring my hair, I've been trying out a bunch of products to help prolong the colour of my hair, and add shine. The most recent addition into my haircare routine has been John Frieda's Luminous Glaze Clear Shine Gloss*, which claims to add a boost of shine to your hair.

"An easy-to-use gel-creme formula that boosts shine right in the shower—without affecting colour.
Gives hair a wake-up call and turns the light on faded, lackluster hair so it glows with newfound vibrancy and shine anytime hair needs a pick-me-up.
All you have to do is shampoo, condition, then glaze!
Gentle, innovative formula infuses hair with shine and supple, luxurious texture that enlivens any hair colour.
Does not contain colour, making it ideal for every shade of hair.
For all shades of natural, colour-treated or highlighted hair." - John Frieda

You can use this product two different ways, you can apply this after shampooing and conditioning your hair, leave it on for 3-5 minutes, then rinse out, at least 3 times a week. Alternatively you can apply this to dry hair, and leave on for 20 minutes, then shampoo out, once a week. I've been using the latter method, because I feel like it will yield better results. You do have to use more product this way, but you have to do it less frequently, so it sort of balances out. This clear gel formula has an almost opalescent appearance to it, and it has a slightly chemical scent. However, the scent doesn't stay with you, which is great.

I like to apply this to dry hair, and leave it on for 20-30 minutes, and then shampoo out. I've found that this does add a nice shine to my hair, which is unfortunately naturally fairly dull. This product hasn't damaged my hair at all, and I have found that it has been keeping my colour quite vibrant! I love that this is a clear product, so all hair colours can use it.

If you're looking for a product to add some life and vibrancy into your hair, I would definitely recommend checking out this product from John Frieda! What are your tips and tricks for shiny, beautiful hair? :)

  1. I had a John freida glaze back in my first year of uni and it was brunette coloured. It was similar to what you have here and it really did make my hair shiny, so I must look out for this one.

    1. Oh I would love to try out the brunette one! :)

  2. Awesome review! This sounds great, I always need a boost of shine lol
