Maybelline Baby Lips Electro - Strike a Rose

My lips have not been loving the colder weather, and they have been feeling a bit drier lately. I've been applying lip balms like crazy, and recently I've started using Maybelline's Baby Lips Electro in the shade Strike a Rose* ($4.99 CAD). I'm a huge fan of the original Baby Lips line, so I was excited to try out a shade from the Electro line!

The new Baby Lips Electro line is packaged in black tubes with colour coded writing. This Electro line includes more vibrant shades, with 8 hour hydration. I don't necessarily agree with the claim of 8 hour hydration, I feel like I get something more like 2-3 hours. This formula doesn't withstand eating or drinking, so reapplying will be required. Strike a Rose is a beautiful light pinky coral that actually has some decent pigmentation! Note that this Electro line doesn't contain the SPF 20 that I loved in the original Baby Lips line. Bring that back Maybelline! Strike a Rose has a really nice, light fruity scent that I think most people will like.

Overall, I do love the Baby Lips line, and I'm loving the shade Strike a Rose. Since these are tinted lip balms, it's really easy to apply these on the go without a mirror. This formula isn't the most hydrating, and I don't think that the 8 hour hydration claims are anywhere near accurate, but reapplying really isn't that hard. Have you checked out Maybelline's Baby Lips Electro line? What shades do you love?

It looks lovely though! Too bad about the lack of SPF.
