First up is Bobbi Brown's Shimmer Brick Compact in Beige ($49 CAD). I originally wanted Bobbi Brown's new blush in Berry, but after swatching it I decided that it was a bit too dark for my skin tone. Then I stumbled upon the Shimmer Bricks! I've heard a lot about these highlighters, but I never wanted to splurge on them. I thought that now was the perfect time to buy them with my points! This looks fairly similar to Dior's Amber Diamond, so if you want to see a comparison of the two, let me know! I was also debating between this and Bobbi Brown's new Nude Glow Shimmer Brick. However, that one was more expensive and contained a lot less product, so I went with the Shimmer Brick Compact in Beige!
Next I picked up a blush that has been on my wishlist for a long while, Smashbox's Halo Long Wear Blush in Blissful ($29 CAD). The packaging of this blush has always intrigued me, you actually grind the powder into the compact, so you have a loose powder to work with. Blissful looks like a beauty berry shade, which fulfills my current obsession with berry blushes!
And I finally caved and picked up Benefit's new Rockateur blush! I've always been a fan of Benefit's boxed powders, and this one has been hyped up so much in the beauty world! Rockateur is a rose gold shade with a frosty overspray that only lasts for the first application. I used this blush today, and it's a very soft, subtle blush. I think that this would pair beautifully with a smoky eye or bold lip.
I also received a little gift with purchase along with Benefit's Rockateur. The cute little pink bag included minis of Benefit's Sun Beam (which I love and mix into my foundation everyday!), Stay Flawless 15 Hour Primer, and See and be Seen Sasha perfume. The perfume only contained enough for one spray, which was disappointing because it was packaged so nicely in a cute box! I'm really excited to try out the new primer, and the sample size looks like I can get a few uses out of it.
I always have a ton of fun spending my points, and it blows my mind that I got all of this for free (just paid the taxes)! Have you shopped at Murale before? Also, have you tried any of the products that I picked up? :)
Ooh that Rockateur blush is amazing! Great haul!

I absolutely love the design of it! :)
DeleteThat Bobbi Brown highlighter looks incredible! Great haul :)
ReplyDeleteThanks! I can't wait to start using it! :)
DeleteI love cashing in my points too! No Murale in halifax but you can get some high end brands at the normal shoppers in some locations, I got Clinique there when I cashed in my points last time :)

Thanks! Isn't it the best feeling? The Shopper's around me are pretty hit or miss when it comes to their Beauty Boutique section, I'm always jealous when I hear that some carry Urban Decay! :)
DeleteAh I am so jealous of the Bobbi Brown shimmer brick, I've always wanted to try one of them but I'd never know which to choose! It looks so beautiful xx
ReplyDeleteThanks! I know, I had such a hard time deciding on which shade to get! I figure that I would get the most use out of this one :)
DeleteI don't work downtown so I've never been to Murale, but I know I'd go gaga if I ever stepped in there!
ReplyDeleteOh you should definitely take a day to check it out! The people that work there are really nice, they'll let you browse on your own, but they're also really friendly if you have questions! :)
DeleteWow great buys! I feel so out of the loop with Murale haha! There are a few Pharmaprix's a.k.a Shoppers Drug Mart here in Montreal that have the higher end makeup section, maybe I just never realized that section had a different name! All Jean Coutu pharmacies in QC also have high end makeup sections and we can collect Air Miles points with purchases :)
ReplyDeleteThanks! Murale is a completely separate store from Shoppers, but it's the same parent brand :) I love Jean Coutu! Whenever I'm in Montreal I always stop by one!
DeleteI always forget Shoppers Drug Mart has a different site for high end makeup, haha. Great picks!! Love that the Benefit blush came with minis! IA - better deal than Sephora sometimes :(

I think you get way better deals at Murale/Shoppers compared to Sephora! The optimum points system alone is way better than any Sephora samples! :)
