Rimmel Apocalips Lip Lacquer in Stargazer

Rimmel launched their Apocalips line earlier this year, and I've purchased the shade Apocaliptic a few months ago. Today I have the shade Stargazer* ($8.99 CAD) to share with you, which is a gorgeous gold shimmery shade! These new lip products are a combination of lip stick and lip gloss, and they feel great on the lips!

"It's the End of Colour as you know it!
The intense rich colour of a lipstick, enhanced by a satin smooth shine.
It's neither a lipstick nor a gloss... It's BIGGER than both!
LONG LIVE THE COLOUR!" - Rimmel

First of all, I really love the packaging of Rimmel's Apocalips Lip Lacquers! You can see the colour of the product at the bottom of the tube, and the lid has a cool blasted rock looking design. The doe foot applicator has a well in it, so it picks up just the right amount of product to apply to your lips. This formula has a slightly fruity scent, which isn't my favourite, but it isn't bad or too overpowering. Stargazer is a beautiful shimmering gold shade that is a nice twist on the nude lip. Lately I've been going fairly bold with my lips, so this shade is a very welcome change. Stargazer isn't completely opaque, but I love the way that it looks with one to two coats. The shimmer and glitter in the formula isn't chunky at all. This new formula from Rimmel feels really nice on my lips, and I find that I have to reapply every 5 hours or so. These do actually hold up quite well throughout light eating and drinking!

I've heard some people comparing Rimmel's Apocalips to YSL's Glossy Stains, and I personally think that these 2 lip products are very different. Rimmel's Apocalips doesn't stain my lips as YSL's Glossy Stains do. YSL's formula is more long-wearing, but I find Rimmel's formula a bit more comfortable to wear. Overall, they are two very different products, and I love them both.

Have you tried any of Rimmel's Apocalips Lip Lacquer (called Show Off Lip Lacquers in the States)? I highly recommend picking up the shade Stargazer, I think it pairs beautifully with a smoky eye and it will be perfect to wear around the holidays! This shade is so low-maintenance, I just love it! :)
