The Body Shop Shimmer Waves - Coral

When I think about The Body Shop, I tend to only think about their body and skin care lines. However, they do carry quite a lot of cosmetic products, and I feel like they don't receive a ton of attention in the beauty world. Today I have The Body Shop's Shimmer Waves in the shade Coral* ($22 CAD/8.5g) to share with you!

"Five shimmering shades for face and cheeks in one neat compact. Use them together or individually. Dust the entire face for a sunkissed glow. Choose one shade to highlight or contour cheekbones." - The Body Shop

The Body Shop Shimmer Waves consist of 5 strips of similar shades, which can either be swirled together or worn separately. The Coral palette is absolutely stunning, containing 4 orange and pink toned shades, and one creamy highlight shade. Each of the colours is fairly shimmery, but it's not over the top. This powder is so finely milled, and swirled together the end result is beautiful. You can wear this product as a blush (as shown in the photo below), or as a highlighter. In addition, you could wear these shades as eye shadows, but I haven't tried that out yet. It is a bit hard to only pick up a single shade with a blush brush, but you could definitely use the shades separately when wearing them as eye shadows.

I find that this products gives my cheeks a nice soft wash of colour, it's nothing too bold. This coral shade is perfect for daily use, as I find that it really pairs nicely with any eye and lip combo that you might be wearing. The Body Shop's Shimmer Waves in Coral pairs beautifully as a highlight over Tarte's Amazonian Clay Blush in Tipsy. Worn as a blush, this powder stays strong for about 7 hours, and then I start to notice some fading. This compact contains a massive 8.5g of product, so even with daily use this should last you quite a while.

All 5 shades swirled together

Have you tried any of The Body Shop's Shimmer Waves? Have you stopped by The Body Shop to check out their cosmetics offerings lately? :)

  1. The new Shimmer Wave in Coral is so pretty, I have had my eye on it but I find it so out of place for the season. I'll probably purchase it still though.

  2. Oh this is pretty. I don't have a lot of experience with the body shop makeup, but it does seem like they have quite a variety.

  3. This kind of reminds me of the shimmery blushes by Physician's Formula. Have you tried those? Do you know how they compare?

    1. I haven't tried the shimmery strips by Physician's Formula! They do look very similar, but I can't really compare the two!

  5. Yeah, I actually do often overlook the fact that the Body Shop does have a cosmetics section, but this shimmer brick is stunning/gorgeous! Will definitely check it out next time and hopefully snag it if it goes on sale!
