Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick in Rapture

I picked up Urban Decay's Revolution Lipstick in the shade Rapture ($26 CAD/2.8g) during Sephora's Friends & Family sale, and I've been absolutely loving it every since! I've heard a lot of rave reviews on this new lipstick line, especially about the shade Rapture, I just had to try it out for myself.

"Revolution Lipstick is rich, buttery lipstick at its best—with the signature Urban Decay pigment-rich color you crave. Addictive to apply (and even more addictive to wear), Revolution Lipstick glides on without dragging or skipping and hugs every curve. Just one swipe gives you a big, gorgeous lay down of color. And with shades that range from gorgeous nudes to bold brights, there’s something for everyone." - Sephora

Rapture is described as a dusty rose, but I definitely think that it has berry undertones. This shade is very flattering, and I think that it would look great on just about any skin tone. Rapture would be perfect for anyone who wants a bit of a berry lip, without going too dark or vampy. This new formula from Urban Decay is incredibly creamy while still being highly pigmented. You only need to swipe this lipstick over your lips once to be left with full on colour. The packaging is absolutely gorgeous, I love the gunmetal-chrome look. This lipstick does attract fingerprints, but that doesn't bother my too much. I find that this colour lasts on my lips for about 3 hours before I feel the need to apply a balm. The colour itself lasts about 4-5 hours. I've been Smashbox's Lip Enhancing Gloss in the shade Radiant over top of Rapture, and this combination is just stunning!

If you've been on the fence about picking up one of Urban Decay's Revolution Lipsticks, I definitely recommend them! They are expensive, but they aren't as pricey as buying a Dior or YSL lipstick. The formula is creamy and hydrating, and the pigmentation is definitely there. The shade range for this line is incredible, there's bound to be something for everyone! Have you picked up any of these new lipsticks? Which shades are your favourites?

  1. Oh, my heart hurts haha. I went into Sephora intended to buy the UD Naked shade with the 20% off, and ended up falling for Rapture and Manic instead. I walked away with Manic (still need to a post a haul!) but this has me lusting over Rapture as well... Weirdly I feel like Rapture looked quite different on my lips, but I may have to go back for it in the future. Highly recommend Manic as well, it's my first HE lipstick so I went for a shade unlike anything I already own (which is a billion lipsticks similar to Naked) and it's scary but I'm glad I did it :)

    1. Manic looks beautiful! I think that Rapture is one of those shades that looks slightly different on everyone. I've actually seen a tube of Naked at my local Winners! It was selling for $17.99, which wasn't that far off of the 20% off price. But now I'm tempted to go back and see if it's still there! :)
