Kat Von D Everlasting Love Liquid Lipstick - Backstage Bambi

Kat Von D's Everlasting Love Liquid Lipstick in the shade Backstage Bambi ($23 CAD/0.18oz) is an extremely bright, vibrant pink shade. I received this sample size in Sephora Give Me More Lip kit a few month ago, and I was honestly a bit frightened by the shade in the tube! I haven't tried any lip products from Kat Von D before, so I was ready to give this a shot...

"What it is: A richly-pigmented, long-lasting lip color that loves to make a statement.

What it does: This long-wear lipstick from Kat Von D stains your luscious lips with striking color, from flashy brights to smoldering neutrals. The liquid formula goes on wet for smooth, precise application and then dries to a matte, velvety finish. Once applied, there's no need to worry about smudging or migrating." - Sephora

Kat Von D's Everlasting Love Liquid Lipstick formula reminds me a lot of MAKE UP FOR EVER's Aqua Rouge formula. The main difference is that MUFE's formula comes with a clear gloss to be used as a top coat. I find Kat Von D's formula to be very drying, and I wish that it did come with a clear gloss to layer over top. I can only wear this formula for about 5 minutes before I feel the need to slap on some lip balm. If you're not addicted to lip balm like I am, this may not be a huge issue for you and your lips. This formula does dry to a matte finish, and it is very long-wearing. I can get about 5-6 hours of wear out of this liquid lip stick before it starts to fade. This also won't come off during light eating and drinking.

The shade Backstage Bambi is a neon hot pink that definitely takes some confidence to pull off. This isn't a typical shade that I would reach for in the Winter months, but I might find myself reaching for it in the Summer. I'm also wanting to play around with layering different shades of gloss over top to tone down the brightness. This product is very pigmented, so you only need to go over your lips once. The doe foot applicator makes application really easy, which is important for such a pigmented product.

Overall, I think this would be a good option for anyone wanting a very long-wearing lip stick. Do keep in mind that most people will feel the need to layer a gloss or balm over top of this lip stick to add a dose of hydration. If neon pink isn't your thing, there are more wearable colours in the lineup. Berlin looks really beautiful! Have you tried any of Kat Von D's Everlasting Love Liquid Lipsticks?

    2. it's true, one of the reasons i just stuck to the mini lip kit (i also just have way too much lip product) is that i found it more wearable, i am still pretty boring with my lip colours!
